What's the best way to record this showing, and avoid the regular showings on Wednesday?

Seems that they're re-showing the first season as part of the Big Sunday on WB and I want to pick them up

They're considered the same series, so you can't do it automatically. I would suggest getting a season pass, and deleting the new episodes as they come up.

What I did was get a SP with the First Run Option for the new season ... then for the Begiinings Sunday showings I did a Manual record.

I did enjoy the pilot episode. It was nice to see the things I'd wondered about - like what happened when Clark saved Lex in the bridge accident.

Go rent or buy the DVDs. :)

Not only is it the highest possible quality (since they didn't do HD transfers for season one), the discs are also in widescreen.

I thought I would love having the first season on.... However, with baseball season, its killing me. Tonight, I have Ed/Smallville/Yankees. With Easyvue, I would just catch it on Sunday.... not anymore :(

I do.... 2 tuners, even. But I have 3 choices at 8pm tonight.... hence, Easyvue would have made my life so much... ummm... easy :)

Need more Tivos. :)
I sometimes wish I had a second DirecTivo just to be able to add the 5 mins padding where needed.

I may end up with 2 when the HD ones hit--we'll see.

Well, I inadvertantly solved my own problem when I scheduled the SP yesterday. Turns out my "That 70's Show" SP is a higher priority for the Wednesday showing, so after this week, I won't have to worry about it.
