Mythbusters--Anyone Watching?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Caught the premier last night. Liked the premise, but the show seemed slow. They spent far too much time on the first myth, a then did two more that I had never heard of. I'm guessing they want to save the good / well known "myths" as a hook and will only address one per show.

After watching a couple of shows, I'm getting the impression that these guys are like the stupid idiot friends that everyone has in their life.

They always start out on a scientific endeavor that quickly degenerates into a "let's destroy stuff" mood.

Overall, a little slow but I'll probably keep watching! :)

I fast forwarded through a lot of the setup. I mainly wanted to watch them destroy CDs and try to blow up breast implants.

I really like this show. I just wonder how long it will be before they run out of myths to bust.

I'm surprised they're actually having these guys fly around the country to speak to experts -- that slows things down for me.

I'm watching it, haven't decided if this will be a keeper or not. I can't tell the difference between the two guys, however.

There were TWO guys?????

I like it so far. Of course most of the juiciest urban legends are based on stories that could happen, even though they actually didn't; these guys are limited to the ones that can be tested and ruled out with experimentation. BTW, I doubt they'll run out of myths anytime soon; those who frequent alt.folklore.urban or read Cecil Adams can attest to endless imagination of the clueless masses :)

It is a little slow. but I like it.
I can't believe how much damage those cd's did.

I enjoy the show but I agree that it does run a bit slow at times. I end up zipping forward to the interesting bits. Thank goodness for TiVo!

This show is actually quite high on my list right now. Of course with West Wing slipping beneath the waves there is some room at the top!

I'm enjoying this, and skip through the background stuff to get to the boomy parts. Yeah.

So far I like the show. The two guys are entertaining. They are 30% scientists and 70% Bevis & Butt-head:p Lets blow up stuff, Yea Yea
I also hope they do not run out of good Myths to Bust.

I like the show, too.

I think that their efforts to (dis)prove the urban legends is akin to what we do when we redirect people to snopes.com with the latest urgent message comes from your coworker.

I do think, however, that the one guy was having just a bit too much fun getting stuck on the airplane toilet, and I wonder how his date went after he burned off his eyebrow and some of the hair on his head. :)

Is this a new show? I'm sure I saw a few episodes of this show about a year ago. They did segments on airplane toilets, Pop Rocks and Coke, and the guy through himself against the skyscraper window and it broke.

I just looked a Discovery's website and it seems that it is the same show I saw. I guess they are re-launching it.

I think they tried it out for a few episodes, then picked it up for more. I remember seeing it a few months ago as well.

It's easy to tell them apart. One guy has hair and the other doesn't. The one that doesn't almost always has on a hat. Plus, he has the long 18th century mustache.

I think one might be the lead singer of Metallica. ;)
