Angel 5x02 (spoilers... duh)

Wow. The writers are just delivering material to the slashfic writers on a silver platter. "I'm his date." and calling Angel "Beefcake." Heh. I can hear the Spangel slashers scrambling for a pen. :)
That aside, the whole buddy flick thing they have going on between Angel and Spike is priceless. I loved Spike trying to hit that demon... although if he can't hit the demon, how he could sit in Angel's chair is an interesting question.
The WB sure isn't afraid to drop the name of a particular slayer, now that the series is off a certain other network which will remain nameless.
I'm really excited for this season... it should be really good if it keeps up like it has.

What was with the badly looped dialogue in that scene in the foyer?
Other than that though, I liked this episode. They seem to be working Spike into the fold nicely although I wonder how long they're going to keep up this ghost bit.
The buddy chemistry between Spike and Angel was good and I found it interesting that Angel didn't tell the others about Spike's soul.

Spike: I must be in Hell.
Lorne: No, L.A. But a lot of people make that mistake.

Wonderful episode. I couldn't stop laughing.
I also knew there was no way Spike would actually betray Angel to the necromancer, that it had to be a double-double cross.
Buffy's in Europe? Where? In Transylvania, deciding whether to slay Dracula or become his groupie? :D

I'm thinking a working vacation. Helping put the Watcher's Council back together along with all the sightseeing. Can't you just see her trying to explain historical buildings to Daw?
:D :D :D

I too laughed aloud many times during the episode.
Fron Spike's "bugger" to the end of the first act, it was hysterical.
I laughed at loud more times at the first act than I did the whole last season of Friends.
Maybe Buffy and Dawn are doing some backpacking across Europe to spend quality time together.
(And would Faith be with them as she's a fugitive? Hmmmmmm)

[to self] Must stop thinking about Buffy, Faith, and Dawn together in a sleeping bag. Must stop thinking about Buffy, Faith, and Dawn together in a sleeping bag. Must stop thinking about Buffy, Faith, and Dawn together in a sleeping bag. Must stop thinking about Buffy, Faith, and Dawn together in a sleeping bag. Must stop thinking about Buffy, Faith, and Dawn together in a sleeping bag. [gives up]

I don't know...I'm torn between that and:
"A spoon?!?!"

Presumably he could sit on the demon, just not punch him.
After all, how could he walk on the floor? It's probably a matter of choosing to "stop" at a certain point.
So, he could "hit" the demon by stopping his fist at the point of contact, but the demon wouldn't be able to feel it.
Yes, I am overanalyzing.
I heard on another forum that Ben Edlund (I think that's the right name) was involved in this episode, so maybe the "spoon" bit was a Tick reference.

If you haven't deleted the episode like I have, check the credits. If Ben Edlund is in the credits, the "spoon" may be a Tick reference.

Edlund has co-writing credit (and he's a producer too, now) so it certainly is.
