Spoilers in this forum

IMHO it's expected that any thread in this forum will contain spoilers about the show. I do not think it is necessary for people to spoiler tag them. If you don't want to know anything about a show before you see it then why are you reading the thread ?
In my opinion on the only exceptions are
1) If the thread title specifically says NO SPOILERS
2) Discussions of previews for the next weeks show
3) If the thread is discussing a show in general or a previous weeks show then specific spoilers or spoilers from a future show should not be included.
I think that if the thread title is showname mm/dd then you can expect spoilers.
What do others think ?

I wrote a long spoiler FAQ a while ago and the basic point of it was that it's the person that's doing the spoiling's responsibility to make it ultra clear to everyone else what the situation is.
This means that thread titles should be clear if there are untagged spoilers in them and specifically what kind of spoilers. Big Brother threads are a good example: Show Spoilers, No Live Feed Spoilers.
Also, in an unspoiler thread where there's a spoiler in tags, the person writing the spoiler must give a clear description (without giving anything away of course) of what the spoiler is.
Example:
Spoiler from next week's Smallville:
Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
Clark gets freaky with Lex.
Unacceptable ways to do this are:
Spoiler on what happens with Clark and Lex next week:
Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
Clark gets freaky with Lex.
or just putting something in tags without describing it.
Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
Clark gets freaky with Lex.
The basic point is that the person with the spoiler info should provide enough warning information that if someone reads it and gets mad you should be able to say that they are stupid for reading it as it's been clearly marked as a spoiler.
Always it's better to be too cautious with spoilers than not enough.

And whatever you do, don't post a thread with the title "They killed <favorite character>! How could they?!".

I just realized there was a stick thread covering this topic at the top (didn't notice it). That topic pretty much agrees with me.
BryanMc, I think that in this forum it is unreasonable to expect to enter a thread called CSI 10/09 and not expect spoilers about that show, whether or not it says spoilers in the title. I think the default is all spoilers and specific titles can rule stuff out (example the No Live Feed spoilers).

Yeah, having the dates in the title is about the same has having SPOILERS in there. Shouldn't be an issue.
But there are some threads just titled "ER" or "Smallville" where you've got no idea what you're walking into.
To be honest, my biggest spoiler gripe is mislabeled or unlabeled spoilers in a thread. One spoiler in a Smallville thread was labeled:
Very, very minor spoiler:
Well, this doesn't really tell me much of anything does it. I read it and it wasn't necessarily a minor spoiler.
I just want people to try and be as clear as possible with each other. Remember, you've got the info. Be courteous and try to keep others from accidentally reading it.

Hmmm, based on your half-admission in the Smallville thread: Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
When you say "getting freaky" ... that would be in a "non-sexual way", right?? Hee hee :p
Just had to ask! :D:D

Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)

:)
My aunt always reminds of when my brother and I were kids we came back from watching The Empire Strikes Back:
I said "You will never guess who Luck Skywalker's father is!"
My brother said "You will never guess who Darth Vader's son is!"
This was in the pre-spoiler tags era, of course.
