HDVR2 or DSR7000?

I'm considering a DirecTiVo because I see that they have reached the dirt cheap level and it would be nice to add one alongside my Sony HD-100 for some SD recording (still using good 'ole SVHS).
I've been reading through some of the threads here, and I see that the HDVR2 seems to be a good choice for a nice hackable/expandable unit. But what about the Phillips DSR7000? It's the same guts, no? This unit is selling at Best Buy for less than $100 and I thought I'd try it, but not if it doesn't offer the same 'conveniences.'

Exactly the same box on the inside.

The main difference for me is that the DTV access card is exposed on the front of the Philips, while there is a little door hiding the card on the Hughes.

True... I commented just the other day to someone that it's obvious that the designer of the DSR7000 doesn't have kids! :)
