I see a handful of people have 'em.
Anybody try a hard-disk upgrade?
Anyone crack the lid? Can it even hold 2 drives?
People want to know!
I would rush out and buy one, but I'm saving up for the HD-Tivo!

Can't hold 2 drives - doesn't work with mfstools.

Well, a little disapointing, but not unexpected.
I wouldn't be surprised if upgrade hacking may be "unsupported" on the new DVD models.
The "Elite" model doesn't seem to have anything going for it except the additional space. The price difference between the 2 would more than pay for an additional hard drive.
Also I think that these guys are priced in a way so that Phillips make money in the sale of the device. Unlike the Tivo branded boxes, which are sold close to cost, since they also require a subscription in order to work.
So I woudn't be surprised if Phillips wanted a crack down on easy hard drive upgrades.
Of course It could just be some minor change in the Tivo OS, and that mfstools needs a easy update.
Time will tell...
