I am trying to copy 120gig image to a 40 gig hard drive. Everytime it gets stuck at almost there screen. I don't know if the restore commands I am using is correct. It works fine to copy image to another 120gig drive.
This is for a HDVR2 unit.
The command I am using is:

mount /dev/hda1 /mnt/c
mfsrestore -bzpi /mnt/c/hdvr.bak /dev/hdc

Does anyone know what may be causing this????

Your post doesn't make a heck of a lot of sense, I'm afraid. How (and why) are you copying a 120gb drive to a 40gb drive? You give the restore command, but are you backing up first? Do you have a 120gb factory TiVo?
