I just purchased my first TiVo this past weekend (Sony 30hr) and I am _very_ pleased with it! (except for the IR->Digital Cable box problems, but thats a whole other post!)

I would really like to see tighter Tivo integration with the music channels & music video channels. I know this was discussed a while back, but i had a few suggestions that I didn't see mentioned when I did my archive search.

I have AT&T digital cable, and it contains some digital music channels (no videos, music only) that do have the artist/title information. It would be cool to use this information to record all songs by a certain artist, by detecting when an artists song was playing and starting a record (if the tivo wasn't doing anything else).

Obviously, i would like to see schedules of music videos be made available (at least for certain times of day) on stations like MTV2. But besides that, if this 'now-playing' information (that the digital music channels use) were made available for music video channels as well, perhaps that could be used to kick off a record on the tivo?

All in all I am extremely happy with my purchase, and i look forward to new features. Is there any place online (other than this forum) that lists the features that are being considered for future upgrades, or do i just have to wait till my software is auto-upgraded?

You should contact the companies in charge of the channel lineups (your cable company for the digital music channels, and MTV for the videos) to include the detailed data that Tivo would need to provide this. Don't hold you breath, though!

There are beta tests that us forum users are occasionally able to sign-up for. No guarantee that you'll be selected, but if so you'd be able to see the upcoming features that Tivo is working on for the next release cycle.
