I just purchased a new tivo unit (abt has the Hughes HDVR2 for $99). I also purchased a 160 upgrade from weaknees. Should I connect and activate the new tivo (with DirecTV) before or after I upgrade the drive? Once again, thank you for your help!

It never hurts to boot the unit first, and see that it's OK before cracking the case and voiding the warranty. If it's DOA, you should know it right off.
