Am I The Online Upset About Boomtown?

I really dig this show...
With all the awards and recognition, I would think Boomtown's future would be secure... But I guess regardless of acclaim, noone's watching!!! :(
I am really hoping that it's given another chance...
This has been a must watch for me along with the L&Os...

It is still a good show and I enjoy it but it has not been near as interesting since they got away from the shifting point of views and the overlapping timelines.
Since they did away with that it has become another cop drama in a schedule of network shows very heavy on cop dramas.

True... I really enjoyed the timeshifting of the storytelling in the earlier shows... I still enjoy it though.... The characters have been established and I am now hooked...

it's sad to say but i'm starting to get use to the fact that good shows get canceled. The Agency was a big disappointment for me when the canceled it.:(

There's a reason you don't see more Rashomon-style movies out there. They're really hard to do. (Intelligently, of course -- any mediocre writer can come up with a bad one.) To expect a TV series to crank out 22 good episodes where the multiple points of view and time shifts mean something is like expecting a million monkeys on a million typewriters to come up with War and Peace and the Bible on deadline.

I'm upset, I thought the stories and characters were as good as anything on TV even after the changes in the show.

Once again, the moronic masses determine the fate of good shows. I can barely count the number of well thought out shows with good characters and good writing that have been canned. This while mindless dreck continues on in its umty-umpth season. Remember, the dummies you work with ever day are 2x smarter than the average tv watcher. People just want a dumb blonde, a laugh track, and/or someone that used to be on 'married with children'. Turn off the brain and stare.
Its undesirable if it makes you think. Worse if you have to keep track of more than a couple of characters (unless they're completely shallow and featureless). Fatal if an IQ over 65 is needed to keep track of whats going on...

I agree. I loved The Agency. They always seem to jack around with or cancel the shows I like.

I was (am?) a big Boomtown fan....thanks for nothing NBC! Now they are taking another show I like..Third Watch and moving it to Friday's at 10 starting 10/31. Kiss of death for the show? I give it a month before NBC says the ratings for Third Watch are much lower than they were on Monday so they are dropping it. What are they putting on Mondays to replace it? Another freaking reality show, Average Joe! Great, just great! Am I the only one who thinks the same people who buy supermarket tabloids are the people who watch all these shitty reality series?

I never got into cop shows much in the past, but I got hooked on Boomtown. I loved the same story, different POV approach. Of course, now that I'm invested in the characters after watching the repeats on TNT all summer...there it goes.
Oh well.
