I have a DTivo Series 2 Hughs 3.1. I bought a 120 gig drive for this unit and will be upgrading it this weekend.

If I upgrade the drive will 4.0 be comming and going to cause me issues.?

Can I add a usb ethernet adapter.? Will 4.0 break that.?

Where is the best procedure for upgrading a Series 2 DTivo for USB and Web and telnet support.

Software upgrades have never killed my expanded drives, but they do kill any hacks like telnet, FTP, etc. I lost everything on my SAT-T60 with the 3.1.1b upgrade, but it was just a matter of reinstalling each hack. There are many threads in this very forum to help you with installing a USB to ethernet adapter and the necessary drivers. Search.

The next SW upgrade will break most of your hacks. They haven't been coming very often, but they just shipped a bug fix version.

There are no Plans for 4.0 on DTiVo at this time - let us know if you have some info.
