Hi everyone, I've seen this question answered many times in the past but was unable to find one of the old threads. I have a buddy that recently moved to germany and is unable to use his tivo there. He would still like to do manual recordings. Where can I find him the hack and also the instructions of loading it onto his tivo. Thanks.

What sort of TiVo is it? (I really need to program that string on a hot-key...)

Don't apologise - I haven't been here anxiously anticipating your reply!

In that case, he'll be able to do manual recordings unless he has version 2.0 on it. If he does have that version then he'll need to download the 3.0 backup for the 112 from that site that dare not speak its name. It's just an MFS Tools backup file, so read Hinsdale for instructions on using it.

I wouldn't touch anything pre-2.5 with a 10-foot pole, but 1.3 does allow manual recording w/o a valid subscription.
