Hi.

I'm going to purchase a refurbished TiVo box, and I would like to ask for some advice as to which subscription I should go for; either month by month or the one-off payment...

Is there any reason why I shouldn't go for the one-off payment? I know it's for the "life of the box", so aslong as it lasts around 2 years then that would be the best choice I guess.

Or should I play safe and go for month-by-month?

Go for a lifetime, it will be sorted then and no worries about counting the months. Also it will increase the value of the TiVo should you decide to sell it.

Just don't listen to all the doom and gloom merchants. They are all wrong and there are more important things in life to worry about.

Couldn't agree more.
Always have, and probably always will, recommend lifetime sub.

If anything is going to go wrong it is most likely to be the hard drive, and they are so easy to replace.

I would initially go for a single month first, then the lifetime it the unit is ok.
