rc.sysinit this is wierd

every time i reboot my tivo it deletes my var/hack folder and alters the rc.sysinit back 2 normal any ideas

I don't know what you've done to try to get into the Tivo, but you haven't succeeded.

Basically, you need to break the following chain:
1. PROM image boots (that's BIOS in Xbox-speak) and checksums the kernel partition (hda3 or hda6) before jumping to the kernel
2. Kernel partition, via initrd, checksums files and directories in the root partition and reinstalls files if it finds anomalies

You've failed the second check and that's why your stuff is getting wiped out.

Far more needs to be done to hack into a series 2. Search.

Look up 'monte' and 'BASH_ENV'. You'll find that you need to circumvent security checks before any mods will stick.

i did do BASH_env on port 25 and it isjust showing a blank screen. also can i set my rc.sysinit.author to start tivoftpd and tivoweb
