All in all ... Good episode!

Was surprised that they killed off those 2 members of the Lantern Corp. <forget their names>

I also liked the lil' banter between Killawog and Flash ..."Killawog! Bratwurt's ... Saturday ... My House!" What did he call Flash ... ?Poozer?

Whats up with the lil thing between HawkGirl & John?

Loving all the episodes we've see so far!

I liked the reference to Kyle Rainer. Where Katma says something to John Stewart you're worse than that Rainer kid you sent to me to train.

I hope to see a Kyle GL.

I'm not done with part 2 yet, but it's a great ep.

He showed up in Superman:TAS. I think this may have been a bit of an attempt at continuity.

My only complaint is that they went a little overboard with the Star Wars references. At least they acknowledged it ("...a little derivative," and later "you sound like Yoda"), but the gold/brass bikini was a bit much....

The ball-shapted GL is Galius Zed. Interestingly, he is also dead in the comics.

Thought the tress flying through space was a bit o' veleveeta!

yeah thats right they did mention Rayner ...

I'm a little confused about the Rayner mention--sure, it was cool, but it made it sound as if Stewart was already GL on earth. Wasn't the GL that Rayner got his ring from GL for the earth region? Just seems like if it's not gonna match up, they shouldn't have mentioned it at all.

They keep slipping more adult-ish references into the show, as well. Last week's "bang" reference, this week it's Katma talking about Stewarts sleeping habits and Hawkgirl's buttslap. Although, personally, I would have rather they skipped all that and just included a few more minutes of Katma in her brass bikini. :)

I still miss Hal Jordan. I guess I'm showing my age...

Hal Jordan's still around, but now he's the Spectre. It would be nice if he made a cameo appearance, as he does in the current Avengers/JLA crossover comix series.

Leave it to comics to have a dead guy making cameo appearances. :)

Didn't you see the Deadman reference in issue 2 of the Avengers/JLA series?

Am I the only one who's reading that series, anyway? Good stuff there. They finally resolve who's stronger, Superman or Thor. The Quicksilver/Flash oneupmanship stuff is pretty funny. And there's a poignant moment in the Batcave, when Captain America sees Tim Drake's costume on display and asks, very quietly, "You lost a partner, too?"

It was Tim Drake as Robin who died, right? Or was it a different one? I do know it wasn't Dick Grayson, because he's Nightwing.

Gray, it was Jason Todd that died. Tim Drake is the current Robin.

This is what happens when you stop reading comics for 20 years and then pick up again by sneaking quick peeks at the newstand.

So who wound up being stronger? Superman or Thor?

I've been enjoying the new season of the JLA. They seem to have better direction this season. Some of the fight scenes they've had this season between superbeings were really well done and nicely-paced.

Along the same lines, has anyone been watching X-Men: Evolution? It's definitely a really good season this year. The past two episodes (a two-parter) were wonderful!!!

Hmm, I'll have to reread it. Apparently I missed that.

I haven't seen part 2 yet, but judging by the first part, it'll be great!

It got pretty cheesy at the end but overall I thought it was pretty good.

I missed the Deadman reference Gray. Where was it? Also, I didn't see the Spectre in the latest series.

There's a very small Deadman chess piece in the Grandmaster's palace (when the Atom leads Batman and Captain America to the viewscreen). Page 31 of Issue 2. (There are also chess pieces representing Hulk vs. Salomon Grundy, Hawkman vs. Medusa and Karnak, and Dr. Strange vs. Dr. Fate.)

The Spectre is the one who sends the defeated Terminus back to his home dimension (the Marvel Universe). Page 13 of issue 1.

Posted by: Philosofy

I'll have to look at that again. Also, in the Grandmaster's HQ, another chess piece matchup is death (Sandman's sister) vs Death (Thanos' lover.)

Oh, and Supes kicked Thor's Assgard. He made some remark about "the toughest opponent", but we all know that was crap, since Doomsday actually killed Supes.

Posted by: bobcarn

Cool! Supes is supposed to be the strongest hero, regardless of genre. Even modern pop culture acknowledges that.
