I have purchased a 160GB Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 series hard drive, my question is do I have to format the Hard drive in any way to make it ready for going into the tivo or will it be formatted while I go through the upgrade directions? Also while performing the transfer they say the C drive has to have a Fat 32 partition, however they don't give a recommended size? The hard drive I have now for C has a 14 GB fat 32 partition is that enough, or does it have to be the same size or larger then the one in my Tivo?

You do not need to format the drive, and a 14gb FAT32 partition is PLENTY of space. The last image (backup) on my SAT-T60 was 230mb, the HDVR2 was 279mb.
