Hey all-

I am in the process of trying to get my old-school 14 hour Philips to record without using the phone connection. I found a website with a little information on the subject, and an archived post by Tivolutionary from this forum when it was still hosted at AVSforums. The whole thread is not there, though, and it does not seem to be archived on this site at all. I was wondering if an admin might have access to the old threads and might be able to revive this one.

I can't post URLs (new user) but here it is broken up a little:

so, I imagine we're looking for a thread #007306-8

You'd probably have better luck just asking what questions you have. We're pretty helpful and some of us are even knowledgeable. :)

An HDR112 can work without a phone line with a TurboNet card installed, for example. If you're talking about running without a TiVo service subscription that's something else, but an HDR112 can be used as a VCR (just with periodic nag screens).
