Stupid CBS

So, no "Cold Case" tonight. "CBS at 75" instead. So I'm gonna get to watch "10-8". I should write a letter thanking CBS for their scheduling prowess and providing me an opportunity to watch the competition.

You may be pleasantly surprised by 10-8. Not of the calibre of Cold Case, but enjoyable.

I'll just watch Charmed live, rather than on TiVo delay.

I'd swear they're trying to kill this show.

Isn't it there job to cancel good shows?

Posted by: njtaz

Well even if it was on tonight it probably would have started late anyway just like every other week.

At least CBS actually is 75 years old. Quite a different situation from ABC, which began as a radio network in 1943, and started television broadcasting in 1948 (and could trace its history back to 1926 if they wanted to acknowledge having been part of NBC), having its 50th anniversary special earlier this year.

I thought about that while I was watching 10-8... "at least I won't have to worry about forgetting to tune to HBO for Carnivale and miss the first few minutes". :)

But after watching 10-8, next time Cold Case is missing from the schedule and I don't notice early enough to have something else to do, I'll probably just watch a Joan of Arcadia episode again, because 10-8 just didn't work for me. At all.

It's weird to me that you guys still operate on a schedule. :)

I just program in everything I want and watch at my convenience. I thought that was the point of tivo.

I agree. And since I have a D-TiVo and and a West Coast feed I program all Sunday SP's on the networks for West Coast broadcasting times where they always show them on time.

Some still operate on a schedule since there's not yet a HD-TiVo available. Cold Case is (along with most of prime time) broadcast in HDTV and has some of the best HD PQ out there.

If I had HD, I would use some other method to timeshift. Watching commercial ridden live tv is barbaric. :)

And yeah, I wish I had west coast feeds too. What do I have to tell them to convince them I'm on an RV?

I had network feeds before they introduced locals in my area. When the locals were offered I bought them but told them I wanted to keep my network feeds as well. They said ok.

I had network feeds long long ago and then didn't have DSS (nor any form of reception for a few years). When I got it again recently, they offered locals (in Dallas). I'd REALLY rather have the other feeds.

Looks like this is the only way to get them back now:

Wonder what the cheapest and smallest RV I can get is...

Bummer. I just found out today I'm moving towards the Cleveland/Akron area and I just posted about that on the DTV board....Oh well, I have until next Summer before I move.
