HUGHES SD-DVR40-want to add larger hard drives to it

I just subscribed to DirecTV Tivo, and I have a HUGHES 35HR SD-DVR40 Series2 tivo, Software version 3.1.1-01-2-351. I would like to remove the factory hard drive, and add 2 120GB Hard drives to it to max out the storage of the unit. I would like to do this myself, but I have not been able to find any information about modifying this particular model. Can I just follow steps on Hinsdale's website for the Hughes 35hr HDVR2 DirecTV TiVo or are the steps different for each model? Please forgive me for I am a newb to modifying Tivo's.
TIA,
Mav

Mav,

That unit is functionally identical to the HDVR2, so just use those directions.

I am in the same situation. Im new to the tivo upgrade scene. I am also trying to figure out how to add the usb-ethernet adapter.

How do I get the unit to see this?

The unit can't see that without some Linux hacking. We're all hoping DTV will release software for that in the future. See the DirecTV forum for more info.
