Doubly-Encoded escape characters

Just had an issue with 8Signs Firewall's http filter and HMO.

HMO sometimes (not sure why) sends sequences list %252F in the http get request. My firewall sees this as double-encoded escape sequence. The firewall first interprets the %25 as a '%' as it should but once that is converted the sequence goes from %252F to %2F which is another escape sequence hence the message.

This occured when I used the chan up/down keys to scroll down my MP3 folders.

I turned off the firewall filter and everthings fine. I put in a tech support email to Tivo to ask about this. I'll let you know what their response is.

Thought this might be of interest to this forum

Er, shouldn't you put in a tech support request with your firewall vendor? The firewall should not be doing that.
