Anyone still watching this show? I seem to be hooked on it. Its a great 'just-turn-on-the-tv-and-watch' kind of show...complete with lots of eye candy:D
And did anyone notice that those two gamblers where from the "Invisible Man" that used to be on SciFi? I kept waiting for Fox to turn invisible!

Hehe, yeah I did notice they were they guys from the Invisible Man.
I love this show. The eye-candy factor is high but the whole show is awesome.

We are still watching. We turned in mainly out of curiosity since Josh Duhamel is from here and is a classmate of my sister. That wasn't enough to keep me watching, but the 1-2-3 punch of Vanessa, Molly and Nikki sure is!
I still think James Caan looks really bored and will bolt after this year. I would guess they threw a lot of money at him to help launch the show and it will be turned over to the young guns for year two.

I thought the first ep was good, but didn't think they could keep up the pace. They did seem to slow down the pace this week, and have done a really good job of filling out the characters (pun?). It's definitely a keeper on the sp for now.

A look at James Caan's filmography (on IMDB.com) reveals steady work in completely forgettable (with the exception of "Misery") roles since "The Godfather".
You may think he looks bored. I think he's glad to get high profile steady work again.

I like the show. The girls look really good in HD too! Can't wait for the HD-TiVo so I don't have to watch live TV anymore. I have an SP for it, but usually watch the HD version live.

I recorded it just for the VV and PBV appearances, and only watched those parts.
Those guys work very well together.

I set up a season pass for this when it started, but just got to watching the shows this weekend. I started to watch the pilot for something to do Saturday afternoon, and ended up watching all of them. It's a pretty fun show. I find the part where they are watching out for the little guy to be a bit corny... but overall it's worth it.

It's a fun show, but each show's plot becomes more unbelievable than the next. I mean, how often does a hotel hostess go out of her way to get tix for a big sold out show in Vegas, just because she felt sorry for someone who lost all their money? I've been to Vegas many times, and I've never even had a hostess come up to me when I lost my money!! And I also can't believe a security guy could be played as badly as Josh Delume's charachter did this past week

Well if you don't believe that then you probably didn't believe that Big Ed would lie about going on vacation and then virtually destroy the casino just to see how his #2 would handle things - even though he (Ed) isn't an owner, just an employee. I mean, how skeptical can you be to not believe that - or to not believe that he'd still be working there the next day?

I have friends that work in Vegas Casino's, and I have met a lot of hostess'. They form bonds with the lesser spenders, they tend to have better personalities and are a lot less demanding. It depends on how you work it, if you are a regular person and you go to Vegas and you want to see a show, ask for the hostess. But expect to pay for the tickets, they may be able to get you tickets to a sold out show, but not for free unless you are a high roller. We did this when we saw Drew Carey 5 years ago, he was sold out, so we found the hostess for our hotel, she made some calls and we got 2 tickets for $100. I could go on about Vegas and the secrets for hours, but I will spare you the running commentary.

I love to hear about vegas and all the "secrets".

Travel channel a couple of times a year runs Las Vegas shows which tell you about the inner workings of Vegas. Interesting stuff. There's nowhere like it.

Here's a good one...
Always play at the casino you are staying at. Get a players card, but never put it in a slot machine. Vegas is all computerized now, and all of the "comps" you get are mostly based on average bet. So only use it when playing craps, roulette or a table game. Be very nice to the dealer, pit boss, or hostess. They will make sure your card get's filled with goodies. If you go and drop a couple grand in the casino, and they fill your card. You may get room upgrades, spa visits, dinner at one of their restaurants.
I have a friend who has done this for years, he only drops about 5 grand every 6 months, but always at the New York. So when comes into town, they give him a free room, free food and free drinks. Anything to just get him in that hotel. Of course he has been doing this with the same hostess for the past 5 years, do loyalty counts.

It's got a "Love Boat / Fantasy Island" ring to me.
You have to be in the mood for mindless entertainment...so I wait til I am! :-)
My fascination is with the cheating. I'd like to see more about how people try to cheat using high tech gadgets, and how they get thwarted.

I have a wishlist setup for Las Vegas and it picked something up on the Travel channel that showed how people cheat. It was pretty neat seeing some of the devices people use on slot machines.

Only? Yikes! I mean I realize there are plenty of higher rollers, but thats a ton of money to be throwing away consistantly.

He makes plenty of money, has no debt and uses Vegas as his vacation spot. He considers it his form of entertainment.
On the other hand, I go with him once every other year and only drop about 1K. I stay with him in his room and we eat for free most of the time because of his connections.

But they know that there are cameras everywhere.
That's what blows me away.

What happened to the inner monolog?
Posted by: drew2k
I just finished last week's episode tonight. It's getting pretty cheesy. More and more I can only think of the Nikki character as "Julie your cruise director" from the Love Boat. They need to expand her storyline some.
BTW - Wayne Newton is certainly generous: gives away TWO FRONT-AND-CENTER tickets for a sold show, lets a nobody sing on stage, and somehow lets unticketed Nikki stand for the entire performance blocking all those paying patrons behind her.

They got rid of it once they realized that Danny's such a nitwit that he couldn't possibly have an inner monolog. :D

James Caan will probably stay. He just got a raise in last night's show. ;)

was it just me or was he acting really strange in this episode? He kept acting confused and kinda dumb. Definately not the "in charge" person he normally is. Perhaps it was because his "other" wife was there, but he acted that way when she wasn't around as well.

Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
Yes, other than his two take-downs he seemed a bit off.
And I didn't like the story about the black wealthy guy. It was pretty obvious he was going to be buying both the ice cream business and the hotel. It took forever to unfold...
