Often when I create a subscription I have several choices of when a syndicated show comes on, but the subscription always chooses the first occurrence of the show for me. Most of the time I would want to record the showing that is late at night so that the recording of it doesn't interfere with normal TV viewing. Especially since the point of the subscription is to save the show I'm not available to watch for a later more convenient time.

Well you can do a manual season pass for that specific time. However I agree it would be nice to choose a specific showing for a standard season pass.

You could also use the Season Pass Manager to lower the priority of the syndicated show you want to record in the late-night time slot. This way, TiVo gives priority to the prime-time shows you WANT to record, and skips your syndicated show until it comes on late-night.
