No menu background?

After backing up and restoring using mfs tools my Tivo background menu no longer exisits...(its transparent). Any idea what could have caused this?...Weird...

You forgot the -f 9999 option.

what does -f 9999 do? I backed up to a file instead of a partition on my real drive so I had to attempt to figure out the syntax myself..

On the original TiVoes MFS Tools will pick up the system recordings automatically. On the Series 2 TiVoes the system recordings have a wider range of fsids, so you need -f 9999 to get them all.

hmm, is there any way i can fix this after its already happened? Or is my menu gone for good?
Posted by: Robert S
The only way to fix it is to restore a properly created backup.

i have a feeling i'm out of luck there...doh.

Is there anyone out there who may be able to help me out with a "properly created" image? or Suggest any way of fixing the background color? Having transparent seems neat at first, but its really hard to read!...
Thanks a ton if you can help, PM me or respond..

I have exactly that same problem, caused by backup and restore without the -f 9999 option. I have a series 2 DirecTivo.
Is it a matter of files missing from the backup? If I can obtain a "virgin" DirecTivo hard drive image, can I copy over the missing files? I want to avoid starting over, losing my Season Passes and Wishlists.
Any ideas?
Alternatively, is there a way to just back up my Season Passes and Wishlists, for later importing into a clean Tivo image?
Thanks

Thanks to the corporate minds at Tivo, those images are no longer available to legitimate folks like you.
Please look for your images from underground sites and check them for viruses and illegal hacks. Now you'll never know what you're going to get.
