Final Season for Frasier? Not so fast ...

Wow. With the lack of cretivity at NBC lately, and no breakout comedies on the horizon, I wouldn't be surprised if NBC gives Grammer the sun and moon to stay on. I don't think I could handle another year of Frasier....

NBC's 'Frasier' May Return

Associated PressReports of the demise of "Frasier" may be exaggerated. There's a possibility the NBC series, widely expected to be in its final season, may be back.

In talk-show appearances this week, series star Kelsey Grammer suggested he would be willing to return as Dr. Frasier Crane for a 12th season.

"If someone called and said, 'We really want you back for another year,' I'd probably figure out some way to make that happen," Grammer said Monday on CBS's "The Late Show With Craig Kilborn." "But that call hasn't come."

NBC, however, has yet to officially deem this the final year for "Frasier." And there's precedent for a resurrection — NBC's "Friends" was expected to wrap last season but came back for one more year.

"The door is still ajar, and you know what happened the last time I left the door ajar," NBC Entertainment President Jeff Zucker told Daily Variety.

Network interest may be enhanced by the fact that NBC has had trouble grooming a new generation of sitcom hits, with the recent cancelation of the much-hyped "Coupling."

I'm glad I've stuck with this show over the years. For awhile I almost gave up on it, but this year has been very funny. Just watching Niles makes me laugh every time.

NBC is desperate. They are seeing their MUST SEE TV schedules on Tuesday and Thursdays getting consistantly beaten or close to being beaten in the ratings. Friends is ending and any other show they have in their schedule is not strong enough to carry Thursdays. I predict they will throw a ton of money into Frasier and put it Thursday at 9, move W&G to 8 and try and shore up what's left of Thursday night or they will kill ER as well. My gut is that even Frasier can't save them
