Basically, it says that because of high DVD demand, Fox may be considering bringing back a run of the show.
It's only a maybe, and I'm not expecting it to happen, but a maybe is alright with me. It'd be great if Fox brought the show back and treated it with some respect by giving it a regular timeslot and some support.

At this point, who cares about respect? I think plenty of us would be happy just to get some new eps in the can...someone would eventually air them for us ;)
EDIT: Up to 35 new episodes! And a decision from Fox is expected soon!
(The deal-ster in me also mentions that BestBuy has 20% off Fox Animated DVDs this week. Seasons 1+2 and Season 3 are each on sale for $33 shipped)

Am I the only one who gets 'burned' on a series? Like Seinfeld, The Simpsons and The Larry Sanders Show... After I've seen every episode 8 times each, my desire to see them anymore is about... Zero. I don't get buying DVDs of series which is currently in syndication. I mean, I guess you can get in the mood and watch them 5 years from now, after not having seen them for awhile, but...?
That being said, bring on some new Family Guy episodes! That would rock. :D

Burnout happens, sure. I can't watch Gilligan's Island or Hogan's Heroes anymore, either. :D

(Ack, *THAT* was bizzare... posted from my Treo, it must've screwed something up... weird...)
(begin cartman)
Dude... that would just... *totally* kick ass! :D
(end cartman)
Seriously, I would absolutely *love* to see new episodes. I'd have to put it close to the top of the Season Pass Manager... maybe even in that most holiest of places usually reserved for 24, the number 1 slot.
One other Fox show I'd really like to see return is Andy Richter Controls the Universe. That show was truly hilarious. Was it ever actually cancelled?

How many copies of Firefly do I need to buy to get it back into production??

It might just be cheaper to buy the production company and/or a cable channel to air them ;)

I'll buy a few to help you there. But someone's gotta help me with Futurama then :)

Screw Firefly, ROSWELL! ! !
Seriously, this is great news. I and my friends were constantly complaining about Fox's treatment of Family Guy. This show was what The Simspons wishes it had the balls to be.
I hadn't even bought the DVD's myself as I bought them on eBay a year or so ago. I am going out tonight and buying them both.

I was thinking Cartoon Network was trying to get Futurama as well as Family Guy, but I haven't seen any news of it. Maybe they're waiting to see how the syndication does.
Have I mentioned recently that Cartoon Network is my favorite channel? Great classics, great new series, great syndication, great imports. If only Sci-Fi channel could be to sci-fi what CN is to animation.
And I'd prefer DVD to syndicated stuff on CN if I had unlimited financial resources. Better quality, watch at own convenience, no commercials, guaranteed to run in correct order. I am a fan of the TV on DVD concept but in practice, I just don't have the funds right now and I don't always need an archive personal copy, so often just renting them is enough for me.

If there is a god, Baby Stewie will soon take over the (TV) world. Now if only the same thing might happen for Firefly, then life would be good.
Oh, and isn't it kind of funny that FOX, the network that previously spun gold from other people's (network's) trash (see Married with Children as an example) is again, perhaps, trying to spin gold from the (in their minds) trash?
I really hope this works, and I really hope that perhaps the networks start doing the same for some other series (Firefly, Firefly, Firefly!!!)

My problem with CN is that it's moving a lot of its "classic" cartoons over to Boomerang. It's very difficult to find Looney Tunes, or the old Max Fleischer cartoons on CN any more. Bah. I do enjoy Justice League, Futurama and Family Guy, but I could do without all the d@mn anime they've been playing recently. (JUST IMO).

Some day I hope they will spin off an Anime Network, but until then I think CN has done a great job of choosing which anime to get.

Did Cowboy Bebop disappear. I was digging that show, but haven't seen any new ones in my "Now Playing" in quite some time.

I don't know if Fox ever put out an official press release beyond "we're putting it on hiatus," but it's definitely out of production, and the actors have all either moved on to be guest stars in other shows, or have new projects in development.
There are still at least a couple of unaired episodes, too.

Saw this on Slashdot, didn't see a mention here.
First they were talking of a Movie straight to DVD release... now a return of the series altogether?
http://www.usatoday.com/life/televi...amily-guy_x.htm
How many people here didn't watch it until it was canceled? I loved watching at Fox, but they did kind of put it up against "Must See TV" Thursday if I recall correctly.
EDIT: Was merged by moderators.
