DAMN!!!!!!

Yea.. but it was so obvious that's how it was going to end up tonight. The old bait & switch editing technique was out in full force. :: sigh ::

Sigh... They got me. I was so sure who it was until she got out of that limo.

Ditto. I was stunned by his choice.

My wife and I were hopefull, but we knew how it would turn out based on the editing.
And then what he said to the host guy before his choice cemented it.

Kelly Joe has already been penned to be the next Bachelorette
Oh, and good job Bob in not falling to the pressure of proposing to her -- don't do it if you don't feel it.

They did the same kind of editing with the Bachelorette. Most people were sure that Charlie would be picked. So I figured they pulled the same trick here. I liked Kelly Jo but I was hoping that Mary would be the next Bachelorette.
In general, I watched this season mostly because I was fascinated at how much these women were into Bob. I think he's sleazy and unattractive.

Amen!
For the first weeks I kept saying to my wife: "What the hell?!?! You are telling me all these women, most who are decent looking, are into *this* guy? No way!"
I think we are starting to see the Real World Syndrome -- the cast members are no longer there for the reason specified, but are now there to be famous.

Hey, quit raggin on Bob. He has more than enough personality to make up for those goofy looking sideburns. :D
It was interesting though, with this season, how many of the women started off already liking him. We didn't have to wait through half the episodes for most of them to actually start feeling something for him. That really accelerated the cat fighting, which equates to good ratings. ;)
Well if Mary is gonna be the next bachelorette, go ahead and sign me up. I wonder how she'd feel about moving to Houston. :D

Starting to?? It's been that way for a long, long time.

I agree - talk about sleaze - he had his tongue down these women's throats from episode 1! Last night I kept looking at Estella and asking my wife, "Is this guy really that attractive?"
Personally, I think Estella outclasses him. She is a beautiful, successful, and sophisticated lady, where Bob is kind of a tool. He seemed a much better fit with KJ. But Mom clearly had a preference for Estella...
I also couldn't figure out whether KJ was upset about losing Bob or losing the "competition" to Estella....
Oh well - good stuff either way - better on TiVo when I can fast forward through Chris's unnecessary commentary at every commercial... "Coming up - on 'The Bachelor'..."

Yeah, but at least when the ladies don't know the guy, they have to work at it a bit more.
Instead, the all just coming in saying "We love Bob!"
Bob is a ManWhore

I get a kick out of saying Chris's commentary before he does. "It's The Most Dramatic Rose Ceremony Ever." "Ladies, Bob, this is the final rose this evening. Bob?" "Bob makes a Surprise Appearance" on the Women Tell All show. etc. It's all so scripted and predictable. Ditto for the music that they play.

You forgot: " Ladies, take a moment, say your goodbyes." And also, before Bob comes out to hand out the roses: "Ladies, I've never seen a Bachelor so torn as Bob is tonight."

I thought he was a sleaze too. When he was on Bacholette, he was an attention hog. He always struck me as insecure and insincere.
But that's just my take.
I too think his "winner" outclasses him by far. I'll be looking for the "they're no longer dating but remain close friends" post in a few months.

From early on, I kept rooting for Estella to be dumped. When she made it to the final two, I'm on record here as saying that I can't BELIEVE she made it that far. And it really perturbed me BIGTIME when I saw Kelly Jo emerge instead of Estella from the limo first. Once she got rejected, I really could not enjoy watching the final rose be handed out.
As for the next Bachelorette, I kind of like Kelly Jo, be really do not like Mary. I'm very happy to hear that Kellly Jo, and not Mary is penned in.
(I also wanted Mary to be dumped early on, and couldn't believe she made it to the final three. But it was enjoyable to see her finally get dumped.)

I'm glad to read that I'm not alone in my shock with the choice of Estella !
I like Bob.. I really appreciated the talk his family had with him. I think this whole experience was hard for him.. and challenged him...
I'm glad he didn't propose either.. that's just too silly.
I still think that Charlie was a better match than Ryan.. and seeing Trista and Ryan get married gives me the heebie jeebies.. LOL

I haven't watched the last two episodes of this, but thanks to FoxNews for ruining them both. They had headlines that said "The Bachelor Chooses Between Estella and Kelly Jo" then today had a headline saying he choose Estella. I try so hard to stay away from spoilers.
Eh I don't think Bob's sleazy. All guys are like that.

I was just flipping through the "After the Final Rose" special this evening and caught the last 10 minutes... Chris said that Ryan & Trista's wedding next week will "make television history." Yeah - OK...
My wife slaps me every time I beat Chris to saying, "Ladies - Bob - this is the final rose tonight..."

I have to whole heartedly agree.... I only watch because I'm stunned all these women are so into him. Bob has his funny moments, but come on now, hes an average looking guy at best. I think it was Estella who said something like they'll get by on her humor and his looks..... ummm, think again sister. And for someone who relies on his humor to get by, his laugh is very annoying. And please, a promise ring?! Are we in 6th grade here or what, grow some balls Bob! Oh well, another successful trainwreck.

About that promise ring: IT'S A HUGE 2 CARAT ROCK! What sort of engagement ring will he give her if they get engaged? Will it be less expensive than the promise ring? That would look funny. Well, I suppose she could simply remove the promise ring at that time. Still, the promise ring must cost many, many thousands of dollars, and it would be a shame not to use it as the engagement ring. Could he kneel and say "Will you marry me" (as he deftly removes her promise ring and then offers it to her as a token of their engagement)?

I think they already mentioned that she would just change hands with the ring and it would be an engagement ring. That's the way that I understood it anyway.

Not sure where you're coming from. This was one of the most well done (least phony) endings on the bachelor*, ever. I think that them getting engaged after only knowing each other a couple of months(especially under the circumstances) would be a sure sign of them being still in the 6th grade. JMHO.
*= Yes, the final episode of Trista's was equally sincere, but that wasn't the Bachelor. It was the Bachelorette. ;)
Oh, speaking of guys who are not too attractive, go look at that latest Joe Millionaire. Those brow bulges on his forehead look downright Neanderthal. :D
