I got a kick out of this episode (other than the "hot" car thing) but what was up with the "ghetto" camera, as my wife called it, they used everytime they switched to Ryan's scenes?

Boy did Annie look good!

Any speculation on the "Big secret"? And the Ghetto camera... were they trying to look like the movie "Traffic?"

The big secret is gonna be that Seth had a manage-a-trois with Anna *and* Summer..

I've lived my whole life in the OC and I can tell you that they didn't use a different camera for the Chino scenes, it always looks dark and dreary like that. :D

Actually, I think McG used the "ghetto" camera to show the contrast between Newport Beach and Chino. If you've ever been to both of those places you'd know there is a huge difference, although Chino isn't quite as rundown as they portray. But it's close :p

BTW, this has probably been mentioned before, but nobody here has ever referred to Orange County as "The" OC. It's just OC. The "The" kind of pisses us off over here.

I enjoyed the episode. Anna was looking very nice.
I don't find Summer very attractive (she's good looking, but her personality kind of kills it for me), so in my mind there's no contest, but hey, it's not my dilemma. :P

No speculation on the big secret.

I've always assumed that it's a riff on the loony references to highways in SoCal ... e.g. "The 5." :confused: :cool:

This was a good episode. I loved the whole story with Seth, Anna, and Summer, especially the support from his dad (with the "go for it" hand gestures), and later his mom's "support" ("I always knew you were a late bloomer"). The writers come up with so many fun lines I sometimes forget this is isn't a comedy!

I found this episode very amusing. My wife and I are really starting to like this show. The comedy they throw in is great. And Seth is just a very good character in my opinion.

Seth is in HS and never had a GF, so this is what he needs to do. Summer will never be his GF, she just likes him because of the forbidden fruit factor. He need to just fulfill his fantasy of her. Anna would be an awesome GF, they have the same things in common and she is not afraid to be seen with him in public.

I covered this in an earlier thread but McG was going to call the show "Orange County", but the network thought people would see it as a spin off of the movie "Orange County". So he changed it to "The OC", which in confirmed in an interview that no one ever called it that when he grew up there.
