HBO Classics...

I'm sitting here thinking of some shows I'd love to see again and Fraggle Rock popped into my head.
It's really a shame - they should have an HBO classics channel where they show old movies and old HBO specials/shows. (For the main reason that no other cable channel can air HBO owned material)
For example - when Sex and the City is over (I know hardly can be defined a classic since it's a modern series), reruns probably won't be played since HBO is the only channel that will play them. Hence to see them you have to buy the DVD boxed sets.
I used to love watching Fraggle Rock and those short clips called "Brain Games".
In addition, there are old comedy specials that it would be cool to see again that HBO aired at some point.
Any other HBO classics that would be cool to see again?

What was that show where the guy had flashbacks from TV moments all the time. It was a comedy.
Very risque for its time.

Was that Dream On?

That was "Dream On." I hadn't thought about that show in a while. I'm surprised HBO Comedy doesn't air those - they air old Dennis Miller's and Chris Rock's.
Not an HBO show, but does anybody remember "Sherman Oaks" on Showtime. It would have aired in the late 90s. I thought that was a funny show. It was mock documentary of a family in Sherman Oaks, California. Can't remember much more than that.

Yeah Dream on was what I was thinking of.
Funny show.
I wish Dtv had HBO Comedy.. They run Shandling Show and Tracy Takes on and others alot.

Actually, Sex and the City is coming to WB-11 (NY) next year in syndication. It will be edited some for language and content, but the producers planned for this from the start, so they filmed also filmed "backup" scenes to replace the racier ones for the syndie-release.
But I agree, Dream On was a funny show, so "HBO Classic" would be a great idea.

You'd think that they would, especially since there are several HBO channels now instead of the one channel that we used to know.

I thought that was the intended purpose of "HBO Signature" ??
I'd love to see "Dream On" and "Larry Sanders" in non-edited reruns. Anyone remember "First and Ten" with OJ and Delta Burke?

First and Ten was an awesome show back in the day. But Dream On was pure genius.
Even when they changed the actor for the Eddie Charles role it was still good.
I wish they would either bring it back as reruns or offer them on DVD.

Dream On was actually syndicated for awhile after the show left the air. I believe Comedy Central (or whatever the pre-cursor to Comedy Central was) aired it, and it may have been syndicated to OTA too, but I don't recall. I loved that show!!

My memory has Dream On being "repurposed" on Fox, where they added the most intrusive laugh track in the history of television.
It would be fun to see it again. Well, not the Fox version.
