Q: On selling SVR3000's w/HMO

I have three SVR3000's that I'll be putting on e-bay. I have HMO on all three of them. I thought I read somewhere that HMO would be fully functional on all three when sold? Just making sure before I list that as a feature in the auction.

Hard to get a feel for the Sony's on e-bay, but I have three pristine units each upgraded to 228 hours (Thanks Weaknees!), Lifetime subs, ethernet adapters and HMO. Maybe start them each in the $650- $675 range?

Thoughts?

Lifetime stays with the TiVo but I believe that HMO stays with the account. Therefore HMO does not add value to a Tivo.

HMO is tied to the box the same way Lifetime is. The one thing to make sure the buyer is aware of, is that for HMO to work with Multi-Room all units need to be on the same account, so you will need to ensure you transfer ownership after the sale to the new person.

At most HMO would add $49, since assuming someone already has HMO that is all it would cost them for subsequent units. For someone without HMO you could possibly ask for the full $99 where you only paid $49, but that is another story.

naider, Olddog said HMO stays with the account, not the box

HMO follows the box. I know because I just got one with HMO transfered over no problem.

And a 228 hour, Sony SVR-3000 (probably the best one), new condition, HMO, Lifetime... would go for around $700 or more even (before shipping).

Your auction needs to tell people about the SVR-3000 features, because overall, it is the best one (not including dvd-writers and such). Built the best, looks the best, has the buttons up front. Look around these forums, there are other bonuses... not to mention the remote control ;).

Look up someone else's SVR-3000 auction and see if you can get any "ideas".
