Whats a Wal-Mart?
Nicole was nice, for the most part, but Paris was mean. They where wusses, the show wasnt really anything special. Next episode should be more interesting, but, watch it. you will get a laugh or 2.

Stupid show, but it amazes me how dumb they are (especially Paris.. Nicole seems more normal)..

Just watched it. The Wal-Mart bit had me rolling on the floor.

If the idea is to get people to think that they are in fact not good for much besides being hot and spending their parents' money, then they're doing an excellent job so far. That's pretty much what I'm expecting. I doubt they'll actually change much.

What's Walmart was funny. I thought "what's generic mean" was funnier. Not only is Paris not very cultured, she's pretty dim too. I think everyone will get more comfortable later on when they find some common ground, as there must be at least a little.

Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)

"We should have a threesome with him." One wonders what might happen in light of recent video footage found floating around the internet.

The teasers at the end are making me look forward to the new episodes.

Selling kisses to the local boys, Nicole getting cuffed by that cop, both of them arguing over the road kill, and Nicole wearing the really long cow latex gloves.

I enjoyed the show. I definately think Paris is smarter than Jessica Simpson. Paris might not know what a soup kitchen or Walmart is, but she did seem to be fairly intelligent overall. This episode was pretty slow but usually the 1st episode of anything new usually is. I look forward to what they showed in the previews.

Everybody really seems to be having fun on the show; I think it's a hoot.

I loved Nicole's suggestion that they have a three-way with the son. Totally priceless.

Did they show any of the infamous Paris video? I could sure use a more clear copy. The one I got from Kazaa was too dark and fuzzy/ :)

How did you even find one? There were over 600 "Paris Hilton" videos on Kazaa when I looked. I assumed they were all fakes and just abandoned the idea of looking for it. Now, Pamela and Tommy I found right away!

I downloaded about six of them, and all but one were the same grainy greenish picture, which I've been told is the correct one.

The remaining one was a fake, just a couple of ugly people doing it.

There are definitely a lot of fakes and several reformatted versions of the original. Nothing too interesting and I am stunned that anyone bothering to film would use Night Shot and just not flip on a light. . .

I thought Paris was trying WAY too hard to be the center of attention for the camera. Nicole seemed much more real about the whole ordeal.

The only thing that annoyed me was the narrator at the beginning trying to do Waylon Jennings a-la The Dukes of Hazzard. They should have used a real Southerner rather than some guy trying (and miserably failing) to sound Southern.

We watched it too. Normally I wouldn't have, but it was actually pretty good. Amazing that she didn't know "generic" and "wal-mart".

It sounds like the gear indicator in the truck was broken or misaligned- I think when she put it in drive, it was in 2nd gear.. when she put it in reverse, it was in neutral. She was using reverse after being at the grocery store, so it obviously works.

The word 'spoilers' was used, so I'll talk about something I noticed from the upcoming previews:

The shot of her sticking her hand up the cow looked strange. The cow's rear didn't look real- I'm willing to bet it was either a fake, or they put up something like plywood so they could trick the girls into doing that.

Yeah. The announcer guy got on my nerves big time. And I think the show was just over-hyped. It was funny, but not nearly as much so as I had thought it would be. Maybe it'll get better. I just felt really sad when they told the family they wouldn't be any trouble.

And as for the cow...er...behind...let's see. How to do this delicately...unless you've ever done that or witnessed that, it would look a little odd. As it was, it did look just slightly wrong...but...aw heck. Just take my word for it-it was probably real. Finally, my experiences on a farm come in handy. :D

It was probably an exam, artificial insemination involves a long tube full of semen and I didn't see here holding one, but that could have just been editing or bad camera angle.

I guess technically there are a few ways you could go about doing it. I'm more familiar with the process of using purchased bull semen

I chuckled, and i'll watch it again if i have the time, but i wouldn't go out of my way to schedule and evening around it (or for the context of this board, use some TiVo space on it, if i had one~).

I *believe* it's done to see if the cow is pregnant. At least that's how they tell with horses (or one of the ways)...can't imagine a cow would be that much different. With a horse they palpate the mare and there is something the vet can feel that tells him weather or not she's in foal.

There are a lot of things they could have been doing. Insemination is just one...and I wasn't paying particular attention to...erm...what sex the cow was. I'm guessing it was to check the progress of a calf about to be born, or the other end of that...cough...process.

I watched the first two episodes and the show sucks. One girl looks like Jon Lovitz with a wig on and the other looks like a starving 12 year old boy from a third world orphanage with the face of a drag queen. The whole thing is a waste of my time. I never even knew the Hilton girl existed until I saw her on one of those celebrity stalker shows on E! standing there posing for the cameras like she is a movie star. So her name is "Hilton," who cares?

I'm not watching any more episodes.

I worry about people who find a woman THAT thin pretty. She has a pretty smile, sure...but seriously. Doesn't she lose her prettiness the moment she opens her mouth to speak?

My thoughts watching last night's episode...I hope they paid that milk guy for the time and product lost. And didn't sell that milk. That's just a case of serious food poisoning waiting to happen...who knows where that bucket had been. That and I got confused...who brings a bikini to work?

One thing I'm surprised about...no one's asking Nichole about her Dad. And believe me, people in the midwest know about Lionel Richie. We get beat to death by him on those crappy easy listening stations.

By the way, is it just me or does it seem that Nichole would be great if Paris weren't around? Well, maybe not great. But she looks like she's genuinely trying and then Paris suggests something...but I could be wrong.

Yeah, I'd never heard of her either until her home movie came out. But at least I know what a WalMart is :) And yeah, she isn't attractive at all. Too skinny, too stupid, too self-absorbed, etc.

Agreed. Paris doesn't even seem to want to try to do anything. It's too bad Paris is on this show at all. Sending just Nichole would've been better, I suspect.

On the subject of sticking one's arm up a cow's rear-end -- it was done on Jackass of all shows, where Johnny Knoxville had to stick his arm up a cow's rear-end as part of an artificial insemination procedure. One sticks ones arm up the cow's rear end in order to put pressure on... something... which opens up... something... so that someone else can stick a big needle or turkey baster or whatever full of bull semen into the cow's... something... so the cow gets pregnant. Sorry, I'm not up on my cow anatomy. I just remember Johnny Knoxville asking "will there be poo?" when the process was described to him.

On the topic of this show -- it must be fake, I can't believe that these two people can be so disconnected from reality that they can think it's acceptable to put water in the milk, etc. It would have been nice if they got served a bottle of that watered down milk for breakfast the next morning. It's hard to like a show where the main characters are rude and nasty and don't get what's coming to them.

Son of a crap. I missed the second episode. I hate it when they make a big deal about when a show is on and then air a new episode on a different night. I didn't have a SP because I was going out with a friend Tuesday night and just told it to record rather than setting up a SP.

What's hot about her? She has no curves at all, no butt, no nothing. Her body looks exactly like a young, starving boy. That may turn on Michael Jackson, but not me. Then there's her face. The first time I saw her was on Celebrities Uncensored weeks or months before her naked tape was released and before anyone knew she was going to be on this new show. I wondered why they were making a big deal about her just because her family has money and especially when she looked like a guy with too much make-up on. Having money doesn't really make you a celebrity. I consider people such as the Olsen Twins to be celebrities since they actually do something, and although they look like they are from Mars, they are a lot hotter than Paris.

For the folks talking about Paris vs Nicole, in terms of who is "adapting better", the show is pretty much about Paris. I have no doubt they only approached her, and she agreed if her friend can come with, etc. They wouldn't send only Nicole Ritchie, as no one would give a rats ass.

I found it just the opposite as the first poster. I found Paris to be fairly polite (as much as one would expect)...she's playing the part. Come on - you're telling me she doesn't know what the word "generic" means? She's playing it up...but she's making fun of HERSELF.

Nicole, on the other hand, is making fun of the others. While funny (don't get me wrong) her commens like "So, do you hang out at Wal-Mart" and "Let's have a threesome...let's give him something" are derogatory towards them. And Nicole also called the town "boring" and said "I could never live here, never!" She's putting them all down to their faces.

Paris asking "What is Wal-Mart" only shows herself as stupid. Say what you want about her but I do think Paris has more class than to put down others like that to their face. She'd rather do it behind their back...which in her world is probably much more normal and respectible.

Don't get me wrong...I'm really not looking THAT deep into the show but I find that Paris is coming off as as someone playing the part while Nicole is just a witch (ie: herself). She's probably just bitter she's not the "famous" one, she's just the "friend".

Oh, and I found the Paris video on Kazaa easy. I downloaded 2 copies. First one was fake. Second was paydirt. I shared it with many friends of my straight friends over the following week. They enjoyed it for different reasons than I did ;) "Oh, gotta get my cell phone!" Classic!

Anyway, I found the show pretty funny. These are obviously a couple of spoiled little rich girls, but it will be interesting to see if they change during this experience...

A thought. Wouldn't it be funny to put these two on "Surviving Nugent"? Only, he doesn't get to send either of them home. He'd have killed them. Quickly.

Side note I was thinking about today...American farmers are having such a hard time these days, and have been for the last 20 years or so. It's too bad we couldn't find a network that would pay all the rich, spoiled kids to farms that are in danger of going under for the amusement of all Americans. Save the American Farm! :D

By the way, how cute is the little boy from the farm family? It made me smile when he sent the dog down the slide. Poor dog doesn't know what he/she's in for.

yeah but you gotta admit that it was funny when Nicole was yelling at the cows to get them moving...... :D

BTW, Paris and her sister Nicky (not the Nicole Ritchie with her in Arkansas) have been in and out of the news for a couple of years now.

I do hope those two really have to work hard though.......

I have thought that ever since the video hit the news. It is just too much of a coincidence for me. The video has been out there for a few years and all of a sudden it happens now. Just to coincidental in my opinion.

This is not a competition so what is the goal? If the girls accomplish something does the family get money? Or do they get money anyway?

I read in a Rolling Stone profile of Paris that she only graduated high school after she switched to "home schooling." I don't believe there was any education after that.

I think that Paris wants to be or thinks she is an actress/model.
I also think that she herself had a hand in releasing that video.
After all, it was after the Pam and Tommy tape was released that Pam got VIP......

I agree with you. That video was made when she was 19; now she's 22 or 23, and the tape magically appears.

I think she just did it for the publicity. She clearly doesn't need the money. She'll inherit at least 30 million when her dad kicks off.

For the record, and I'm sad I know this...Paris is a fairly well known runway model and is used quite frequently by high end designers. Not that I really ever wanted to know that in my lifetime, but that's what happens when you're unemployed and have control of the remote control.

Is it just me or did anyone else notice that the rear end of the house they are staying in looks like a new addition? I think in exchange for this family to put up with those girls, FOX agreed to build an extension on their home. FOX must have thought it would be cool to arbitarily build a well in the floor.. for a farmerish-feel. :D

I come from the other kind of farming (nearly exclusively vegetables). I'd like to see the girls move 40-foot hand pipe for an irrigation system through rows of cabbage or something.

As for the addition to the house...it reminded me a lot of what both my grandparents have on their houses...additions to very old homes for plumbing purposes or expanding families or what have you. I'm not sure it looked all that new, but then again, I wasn't paying that much attention to it. If I'd been the farmer and they added an addition on to that house, I'd make DARNED sure they added a second bathroom. :D

actually the windows weren't installed. What they did was put plastic over the windows, thus why the bugs were able to get in.

I think I laughed through the entire episode. This show is gold!

These girls are way over the top, but these people have to realize that these girls have never had a job and don't understand some of the basic rules. I bet if they had just let the girls deliver the food (like they said they enjoyed) I bet all would have gone well....but not good tv ;)

Do you think Paris & Nicole have any idea how stupid they look? Do their parents realize how spoiled these two brats are? I wouldn't wish for anything bad to happen to their families, but these two need to be thrown into real life (without camera crews filming them) for about a year or two and have to actually work for a living. You know, earning money to pay for a place to live, food to eat, etc.
