Interesting episode...

I'm assuming I don't need to put spoiler tags in a thread with "Spoilers" in the subject... Stop reading now if you do not want to see any spoilers...

1. Interesting, this is the first time the corpse spoke to Tru before getting placed in the morgue's body drawers...

2. The end surprised me... Wow... how does he fit into the picture? He's always seemed a bit odd to me...

I actually enjoyed this episode! For the first time some actual unpredictible things happened.

The BEST moment which portends good things for the show was the moment Tru handed the kleenex to the guy in back of her at her MCats. If I'm not mistaken this is the first time we've seen her do something she obviously picked up from the previous day, without us actually witnessing the guy do it the first time. I want to be treated smart, like I actually know what's going on, and I don't have to be spoon fed every little detail. Speaking of which, I Tivoed through the "Previously what you just saw under a half hour ago on Tru Calling" segmant. GIVE IT UP!

I really didn't like the way she actually had the names of the horses written down at the end. How trite was that? Why couldn't she actually have just dismissed it from the previous day and actually forgotten the names? The way they did it made Tru seem more self-important than necessary... like she knows what's best, so THERE.

The actual plot was fairly interesting also... an obvious rip off of "Flatliners," but still pretty well done. I was "Truly" rolling my eyes when Tru used the paddles to bring her out of it, and said "what if I hadn't been here, huh??" What, the other guy couldn't have used the paddles? It's that complicated? I felt slightly vindicated when it turned out the cause of the med student's death wasn't flatlining after all.

And my last comment is... didn't the blind date guy look exactly like a young Marc Singer (aka Beastmaster)?

1. I think that last week(?) when she pretended to be that bartender for the frat reunion party, the group of guys spoke to her before they went into the drawers.

2. Yeah... I'm hoping it's not a bait and switch, and the doctor does know more about Tru's reliving past days. Tru could build up her little "Tru Kalling Krew" who know about her reliving days and help her out without much question.

You are right... I forgot about that... I guess I was suprised at how quickly she asked for help this time around... The guys from last week had been wheeled in a lot earlier, and then, when Tru was in the office, got called out to them because she heard a strange noise (which was consistent with past episodes)...

This time around just seemed so immediate...

The piece of paper with the horse names was kind of cute, but it completely screws up the continuity they had been establishing. In the new day, Harrison didn't give her the horse names and she never takes anything back with her since she always just wakes up like she did that day.

My main concern about Davis is that he's going to turn out to be the bad guy (Unbreakable, John Doe, anyone?). We already know he's well aware of the increase in deaths since Tru's mother was killed in 1993.

He did save her the first time because she did not die then, she died later in the neighbors house. So if Tru was there or not (and used the paddles) it did not matter because she was going to live. Of course Tru did not know that at the time.

She could have written them down after she got up in the morning. Though why she would, since she was intent on not giving the names up anyway, is a mystery.

Ok, I saw the pilot, then finally remembered to set an SP, and saw this episode. Who was that guy she ran into and broke the camera? Did I miss something? I remember the elevator after the date, the door in the camera, and the scene towards the end. Someone clear this up for me, please.

She met Luc in the first timeline last week and saved him from an interview with gunk in his teeth in the second by relaying a message through Davis, so she didn't meet him the second time.

I don't think Davis is going to be the bad guy. At least I hope not. I'm curious to see where they take this with Davis getting involved and knowing what's going on. But I think I liked it better where he seemed to like her from afar.

I've seen the first two episodes (loved them) and this one last week. I thought it was the worst of the three. An obvious ripoff of "Flatliners". Why would anyone want to rip that horrible movie?

It seems to me that the show is starting to get formulaic already. Brother/Sister will get into some degree of trouble, friend will be part of a bad experience, someone will die but not from what Tru concludes is the reason. She'll save her brother and sister, though they won't appreciate what she did for them, the situation will be at least better with the friend, and she'll intervene at the last minute when she realizes the true reason.

The part about Davis at the end was a nice twist, and I hope they can do something interesting with that. I think the show has potential, I'd just like to see them live up to it.
