Transfer Drives?

Is the HDVR2 model able to accept the SD-DVR40 software? I was wanting to know if anybody out there has swapped drives between those two machines. I would like to keep all the programming I have done on the HDVR2 and transfer it (the hard drive) over to the new receiver (SD-DVR40).

I think we're currently assuming that they're not compatible (type II Moron), but I haven't seen a definite post either way.

It doesn't solve your problem, unfortunately. Your recordings are encrypted with a key tied to your mainboard service number. If you move the drive to any different mobo then you'd need to do a 'clear and delete everything' reset to reinitialise the encryption.

That's no fun. No fun at all!!

I just hope the new SD-DVR40 model works correctly with 5.1 surround sound with my THX qualified Kenwood receiver.
