What a great episode!

Not as good as "Like Father Like Clown," the first Krusty is Jewish ep, but I think this was the best of the season so far.

Anything with both Jackie Mason and Mr. T, how can it be wrong?

I don't usually watch the Simpson's, but did watch last night and thought it was pretty good.

I liked how they had Mr. T spinning around on the Menorah and how they have Krusty going through his old Jewish neighborhood. Jackie Mason as Krusty's father was a nice touch as well.

Strange. I found it pretty weak, with a poor ending. As I tend to like the ones others don't, at least there's a consistency here.

I thought it was a great episode. I loved the jab at all of the continuity freaks .

I actually enjoyed the subplot with Homer running his own talk show better than the primary plot of Krusty's bar mitzvah. I just wished they'd said SOMETHING about how Homer's show fell apart when he followed Lisa's advice - they missed a joke here.

But the rotating cast of Lenny's replacements was priceless.

Now the bit where Lisa looks up something in the Simpsons guide was indeed priceless. The replacements keeping Lenny's mug equally so. But those were only a couple of high points in what I felt was an otherwise blah episode.

I think the Jews may have liked it more than the gentiles, b/c there were a lot of little references in there that not everyone got.

Bart said something about it. Something like "See what you get when you follow Lisa's advice".

I wondered how this ep. would go over here because I think it's the best one this year. Proof of that is that I didn't delete it after watching.

I really didn't get the ending. Will someone explain it here?

What didn't you get?

Posted by: tedder

The very last line. I don't remember it now, but it was referencing a name I didn't recognize.

I enjoyed this episode as well. "I pity the Shul!" - awesome!

The last line was Mr. T saying something about "I pity the fool that didn't bring an envelope."

What does that mean?

This episode must have confused the crap out of Raj.

It's traditional to slip an envelope with some cash in it to the boy at the reception.

You're right. That's the line. I was thinking it involved a person, but it didn't. That makes sense now.

I had mixed feelings. Overall I thought the episode was kind of weak, but the sum of its parts was good, especially with Homer and the talk show.

I missed the part when Lisa looked up something in the Simpsons' guide. When did that happen?

I loved this episode, but I did get the feeling that they did this one to entertain themselves. There must have been a ton of Jewish references that the non-jewish population didn't get. The store names in Krusty's old neighborhood were great but I'll bet most people didn't get the Kmart goof.

"Caution: People in the first two rows may get converted!"

:D

When they were discussing how santa's little helper could have babies when Homer was supposed to get him nuetered in a previous episode.

I thought this episode was really good. I can see it not being as funny for those who don't necessarily get all the inside jokes (though I wish I didn't get "I pity the shul"). The episodes where they seem to make fun of themselves (a la Lisa with the book) and/or Fox seem to amuse me more.

Why do you wish you didn't get "I pity the shul?"

Maybe I liked that b/c it's part of my name.

Also, I went to Brandeis, so I liked the reference to Lisa's imaginary friend getting in there.

I thought lisa opening up the Simpson's guide was a little nod to the idea that it's hard to come up with new ideas. When they had the little pups I thought to myself, "they did that already", and sure enough Lisa goes through the guide.
