24, Season 2 was Much Better?

So I've been watching 24 since 1,1. While I certainly enjoyed season 1, I thought that season 2 just blew it away. And now I'm not so sure that season 3 is really impressing me very much. I guess that the addition of Kim as a computer expert was a bit too much of a stretch. Also, the plant they have at CTU was a bit too much reminiscent of season 1. Now don't get me wrong. I'm enjoying season 3 but it just isn't knocking me off my feet like season 2 did. <shrug>

I think it is too early to tell how it will go... I am not as excited as in the past two seasons, but it has some great possibilities.

I watched Season I when it came out on DVD and was addicted to it. I watched on my break at work on my DVD on the laptop, I watched before class, during class breaks, when I got home after work and class. I pretty much did the same when I TiVo'ed all of Season II. I was on the edge of my seat. This season seems to be a little lame. Well, I wouldn't use lame. It's not as edge of your seat as I remember the first 2 seasons being.

I think it's because right now we don't know exactly what's happening, we don't know if there still is a threat or not.

Seasons 1 & 2 at this time, we knew what CTU needed to stop 4 or 5 episodes in the future.

But yah, it hasn't been as good. The freshness of the format has worn out a bit.

The problem is, I don't think each episodes "cliffhangers" have been good enough to make the tension that great.

Each episodes ending should be so tense, that you're pissed that the next hour doesn't start right now, and a lot of people would hold off a few weeks and watch 2-3 shows in a row for that reason.

Don't see that happening this year so far.

I threaten every week to make this week my last because this season is really lame, almost comic book like in the events that have been happening, but I watch because I'm hoping it will get better. Reading the preview of tonight's episode, it seems like it's even going to get MORE lame!! This may really be it for me...

I have to agree. Seasons 1-2, I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. Season 3 is good, but it just doesn't have the suspense of the earlier seasons.

This season is definitely not doing it for me like the last two seasons did. My girlfriend and I regularly yell at the TV when Kim does just about anything. I can't believe that CTU is so hard up for anybody that can do the job that Kim is REALLY considered an "asset" to them. And all these moles in the organization doesn't speak well to their screening process. I hope it gets better, but I'm pretty underwhelmed this year.

I guess what really got my attention at the beginning of Season 2 was...

Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
The scene where Jack asked the pedaphile (or whatever he was) if all the charges were true, followed by the guy just laughing at him and admitting it(more or less), and then he took out his gun and shot the guy on the spot. Then the other guy was freaking out, followed by a few choice words by Jack (about people like him), and then saying something like, "Make yourself useful and get me a hacksaw", while checking the guy's pulse to make sure he was dead.

Then the next episode, after the guy dumps the head out of the bag, the other guy just smiles and says, "Jack's back." You just knew it was gonna be a wild ride for the rest of the show.
