The Practice 12/7 - spoilers of course

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Haven't seen any of my Practice buddies chipping in after last night's episode.

Have the two new characters, Alan and Tara completely taken over? I'm not complaining, just commenting. It doesn't seem like the season is that far along, and did anyone else have lines last night? Ok Eleanor had a few, but not much.

Did you rewind to re-hear Tara switch from English to American and back a 2nd time? Pretty cool.

And although Alan's defense was a bit out there, the character seems to be changing week to week.

Good episode overall...were Jimmy and Eugene in it at all?

Has the blonde Jaimie had anything to do this year but research stuff?

Mal-puppets!! Mal-puppets LOL That whole scene was so funny. I also enjoyed both of the closings, especially Tara's. I really thing the writers are great for making Alan so good and bad at the same time. We really get the sense that he will do anything inside or outside the law to help others and himself.

I had a missed channel change I discovered 23 minutes into it. Can somebody help me out with a recap of how it started.

How did that exploding toilet thing come to them, and how to Tara end up handling the trial? Also, what did he mean with the male puppet thing?

"Mal puppet" is malpractice. The toilet thing had been in the firm for five years--first Bobby, then his wife, then I forget, then Alan. Alan was supposed to argue the case, but he was drafted for the murder trial by another judge on the day the toilet trial was supposed to begin. Eleanor let Tara argue the case because she knew everything about it, and had a good rapport with the client; with Eleanor's supervision, it's legal for her to argue the case.

I was disappointed with the whole toilet storyline. Though I'm definately not disappointed with Rhona Mitre's airtime.

So do the actors for Jimmy and Eugene get paid the same for practically no airtime this episode?

The Toilet case went Bobby, Lindsay, Rebecca, Alan. You read the rest.

I liked Alan's line when he was questioning his client on the stand that went something like, "I can't ask you about blah, but get in what I want you to get in."

Does anyone else find the Eleanor character to be annoying as heck? She comes across as so sanctimonious, with very little sense of humor. I wish she'd have even less on-screen time. Maybe she'll be the next original character to leave the show. It's definitely better this season with the new guy Alan.

That was cool! Does anyone know what her native accent really is?

Posted by: Rob Helmerichs

She's a Brit.

She was born in London.

She was the live action Lara Croft before they decided to use Jolie for the movies. She did photo shoots, went to trade shows and sang a song as her.

Rhona Mitra is half Indian half Irish. Born in England. Her father is a cosmetic surgeon there.

I rolled on the floor laughing at Alan's opening statement especially at the end where he said "One lowlife down one more to go. And also when he was questioning the witness about her being a drug dealer saying that his client could use a new drug connection.

She screwed the pooch by missing the filing date for that lawsuit against the airline that threw the large lady and her daughter off the plane. That's pretty much all I remember her doing this season.

I've got this entire season saved, just haven't had time to watch and it sounds like the show's really turned it back up.

Is Eugene just the managing partner now? I miss the old Eugene. Remember in the early seasons where he'd bet on whether he could get an acquittal or not? And he was the BEST on cross.

According to your link, she had breast enhancement for the Croft stuff she was doing. Wonder if her father did it, or just hooked her up for a discount with a buddy?

Yes, that fat pig of a woman/lawyer is the only reason I'm not really in to this show. She completely grosses me out, makes me want to barf, and is the only reason I don't watch regularly. Sorry if that was too much information but I definitely agree with you.

Perhaps not TMI but maybe a little too descriptive. I imagine there are at least a few female forum members who don't have today's ideal anorexic stick figure bodies who might have been offended.

I have nothing against the actress or her weight, I just don't like the character she portrays on the show. She could be 120 pounds instead of whatever she weighs now and if she acted the same way I'd still be annoyed with her character.

Of course, maybe that's exactly how the actress behaves in real life, in which case I would not like her in real life either. :)

I know some very very very nice warm people who aren't exactly height-weight proportional. I guess I basically agree that something about her character on the show totally grosses me out and it may not be because of any specific issue, just her whole persona. I just can't stand to watch the show during scenes where she's present. That basically covers it and trying to pin down a specific reason probably wasn't helpful or necessary.

My sincerest apologies to topic readers for wording my comment like I did.

Too bad Dave already quoted you... the edit button is your friend...

RED RAW -- I was cracking up at this episode. When Alan said he couldn't possibly take the murder case because he was so attracted to the judge I was rolling.
