Michael,

I used the Weaknees Kit (Twinbreeze complete for the 24008A) to upgrade my TiVo a few hours ago. All worked smoothly. Thanks a bunch.

I did want to mention, however, that the case fan that came with the kit did not match my 24008A case. The replacement fan was about 1/2 inch (perhaps a quarter inch) too small in each dimension to fit where the fan mount screw holes are in this case. Did I get the wrong replacement fan in my kit or do you think that the 24008A may have two versions of the case?

Also, I found the most difficult thing to deal with was determining whether a particular HD had the jumpers set to master, slave or cable select. If you were able to add photos of each position for each of the commonly used (by TiVo and by consumers) to your website it would be a tremendous help.

But, if that is the most difficult problem, it is truly a smooth operation. Thanks so very much for making the upgrade easy!

Thanks for the comments. We built diagrams of the jumper positions for this reason (and because good photos proved to be hard to take) but this doesn't seem like the best solution, so we need to revisit it.

As far as the fan, we don't have a replacement fan for the 24008A and 24004A case fans. For those units, we only send the smaller bracket fan. I'm not sure if you ordered a TwinBreeze Complete or an entire kit with a drive, but if you ordered for that model, you should only have gotten (and paid for) one fan. This may have been our mistake, but if you got the parts that you need to secure the bracket to the TiVo in that model, then you shouldn't have gotten both fans. In any event, just don't use the larger fan - that's the way we intended it.
