1)Quote from the second of three shows are Saturday for oldies fans:
"Humvee is southbound on Emerson between Lake and Palmer."

I liked these eps a LOT. It almost seemed like the producers knew the show was toast, so they finally did it the way they wanted to again. E.g., the return of the time skipping.
I even liked Vanessa Williams' character a little.

Crap... somehow my "Keep At Most" setting was set on 2 so when I got home last night, the first of the three episodes had been deleted. At least I got it fixed before tonight's episode.
Did I miss anything worth trying to track down in the first episode last night?

I thought the episodes were great. I wish the DA had more show time though. But his little showdown with the judge in the third one was cool. Looking forward to tonight's ep. Maybe they'll come out with Season 1 & 2 box set for DVD soon.

Just pisses me off even more that we won't see any more of this show...

Yeah I watched all three and they were all pretty good. Too bad its going off the air. It does deserve another time slot.

Crap, I forgot to TiVo the 3 episodes last night. If anyone can help me out and send me the 3 episodes from last night, send me a PM. Thanks.

Watching these was bittersweet --- makes me realize how much I missed it and how much I'll miss it now that it's cancelled.
Boo NBC !!

I agree with the sentiments that others have posted, watching these eps really ticked me off that this is the end of the run. I've only watched the first 2 of the marathon, but there are some good storylines developing that probably will probably be left open-ended. I found it funny how the USA Today TV writer took the opportunity to rip NBC 2 times last week when writing about the upcoming (at the time) marathon.

It doesn't surprise me that this show is being cancelled. It was so inconsistent and after NBC started messing with the format it really went downhill. Probably the two worst hours of TV I have watched in a long time are the Russian Mob episode and the episode where the jewelry store robbers pose as police officers. Absolutely awful TV. Some of the characters had a lot of potential, but the show never moved forward as it could have.

I also forgot to record the eps on Saturday. I was hoping by some miracle my Tivo would be smart enough to "suggest" the eps aired before I got home, with the 3 thumbs and all.....oh well. I got home right at 9:25 but unfortunately DTivo wasn't tuned to NBC either. So, if anyone can get me the first two Saturday eps, please let me know! There will be karmic rewards! :)
I saw the 3rd ep on Saturday and recorded last night's. I enjoyed the one I saw, although VW with the whole "I know college boys..." routine was annoying as all get out.
Speaking of annoying, NBC aired these commercials during the marathon:
"You're watching the most critically acclaimed show on television.....The Boomtown Marathon continues next"......fu, NBC!!! You cancelled it!

The funny thing was that Anthony Montgomery got more lines and more screen time in one episode of Boomtown (playing a dead man, no less) than he has in the current season of Enterprise!
Other than that, I am sorry to see this series go. Even screwed up by the network Boomtown was better than most other dramas.
Although, I'm not sure that I bought Teresa becoming a cop........

I really hated to see the series get toasted but I'm glad we got the last shows out of the vault.
I really appreciated the "outro" music at the end of Sunday night's showing. A little tune by David+David...

Was the surfer driver guy in Haystack Lemonhead from The Shield?

Yep.
On a side note, I certainly wasn't expecting the ending to the "Hole in the Wall Gang" episode.

Also, Virginia Madsen's roommate in the Sunday episode was Starbuck from the new Battlestar Galactica.
Anyone willing to share the 8PM and 9PM episodes from Saturday w/me?
Posted by: jwjody
I enjoyed the eps from Sat. I wasn't impressed with the one from Sunday. I've still got all of them on my TiVo though just to watch at least once more since NBC screwed us out of a great show.

It's strange, why do NY cop shows succeed where LA cop shows fail.
L.A. Dragnet & Boomtown get yanked, and all the NY cop shows have been going strong for years.

God damn...I just finished the last episode... Why did this show get cancelled... So good... So good.
Although Jason Gedrick looked like he gained some weight in the Sun. ep. ;)
Poor Jason...can never get a regular series... Just like the woman he "saved" in that episode...

Not to mention Robbery Homicide Division, which was also terrific. "24" is the only "crime" show -- and that's a stretch -- based in LA that is succeeding, AFAIK.
Not ALL NY shows make it either -- Brooklyn South comes to mind -- but I'd also like to see a show succeed based in another city. It will be interesting to see if "Line of Fire" succeeds in Richmond VA.

I just finished watching my TiVo'd Boomtowns...
Kind of bittersweet... It was great to see the cast again... But it was very upsetting that these are the last ones... They did a great job...
I still don't know how other shows can survive, and this one cannot find a way to survive... Can't FX or some other network pick up where NBC left off? Any write-in campaigns to NBC going on?
We can't all be the only ones that feel this way about this show... Can we?
