Fuzz on channels 2, 3, and 4

I noticed recently that I have fuzz on my first few channels (2,3,4) and at first I thought maybe my cable company was having some problems until I went over to a relative's house, they have a different model of TiVo than I do, and they have a different cable provider, and they're seeing the same fuzz.

Is anyone else seeing this?

The fuzz is like snow or white noise, but not as intense.

Also, I don't think it's OTA interference as all the coax lines involved are high quality and shielded.

What happens if you bypass the Tivo and connect your cable directly to your TV? That will tell you if the Tivo is influencing the problem or not.

Note that Tivo tuners need a nice, strong signal to produce a clear picture. You'll want to minimize splitters in your cable line because every splitter will reduce your signal strength.

Another thing to try is simply rebooting the TiVo. (i.e. pull the plug for a minute and then plug it back in)

THis is often a symptom of poorly connected (or possibly defective) coaxial cables - 2, 3, 4 are the channels most subject to leakage.

(despite the COMCAST phone rep who said that the occasional distortion I was getting on one side of a digital music channel was due to leakage and they would have to send out a tech 8-})
