This is an odd problem.
If I download a show, it only starts transfering @ 40kb/sec. Then I download the same show simultaenously, 40kb/sec. Then I download the same show simultaenously again, this time it starts @ 500kb/sec. Then I download the same show simultaenously and it starts @ 40kb/sec. I then have to close the first, second and fourth download to get a max speed of <1mb/sec.
Any ideas? The speed never exceeds 1mb/sec. Bypasses the router w/ a crossover cable, no change. The router registers the connection @ 100mb/sec. Running win Xp on the client, running version 3.x on a Hughes series 1. I have tested the cables, they are good. I find it odd that only one of the 4 simlutaenous downloads goes above 40kb/sec, never to exceede 1mb/sec.

I don't see why we can't talk about this. I am paying for my service, i just want to know about the very unusual transfer speeds and performance I am experiencing.
Now, only one of the 4 simultaenous transfers starts to ramp up at a rate of about 2kb/sec every second. only one of the transfers though.
