Possibly. The 'Moron' constraints that prevented this sort of thing on earlier TiVoes seem to have been removed on some current models.

Read the link, try the image and verify that it has successfully upgraded to the correct version (if it doesn't, don't let the TiVo continue to call in or you'll have your account suspended!).

I've seen a lot of posts saying that the HDVR2 is the same as an RCA DVR39...does anyone know if the image from a HDVR2 will work on a DVR39?
