Hello all...

I am just starting out in my upgrade procedure and obviously you have to buy a new drive. I'm looking at 120GB Maxtor.

My question is, they come in 2MB and 8MB of cache. It the 8MB of cache going to make a difference?

Everything I have ever read here leads me to believe that the 8mb cache makes no difference inside a TiVo. Same as a 7200 drive will not improve your TiVo over a 5400 one. However, I bought 7200 8mb drives because if I ever want to pull them out and use them in a PC, I definitely would not want the slower 5400 2mb drives.
