This show remains my favorite brain/eye candy of the season. Now it's even better watching it on my new DLP HDTV!!
Nikki Cox is just that much better in High Definition.:D
The only problem I had with this episode was with Neesa's makeup (she's the black beauty pit boss). God she looked awful.
Posted by: landrumdh
I thought it was as hot as ever.
You'd think the premis of the show would be boring but it's got me glued to my TV everything timeshifted by about 30min :)

TivoDaddy,
This show consistently tests my tug-of-war between time-shifting and watching live in HD.
Last night's episode pulled me WAYY over to the "live in HD" side... :)
Nikki
Vanessa
The Ring Girls (the one who backed out looks really familiar?)
Was the guy Mosely fought fictional or were they both legit boxers?

I was really looking forward to seeing Sam as the ring girl :(

Well, I'm still recording the show on my TiVo on the offchance I get pulled away, but from now on I'm watching it live in HD. :D I hope they keep the story arc of the down and out heavyweight boxer.
daperlman, it was a shame we didn't get to see Sam as a Ring girl.
I know that I would have kept that money. Loosers!
FYI. I put a reminder in the Season Pass Alerts that this show will start at 9:10pm next week, so it might not record if it interferes with other shows you might be recording at 10pm. This is NBCs way to keep viewers on their shows.

Jennifer Lyons, I will always remember her as Reagan Lauren Busch in Action.
Well that is a great trade off, if we don't get to see Vanessa Marcil in a bikini than we move to Nikki Cox.
At the begining I was kind of wondering what the hell the chief of security was walking a fighter to the ring for. I was glad they explained it.

Love the show....but I couldn't stand that whole Blue Man Group story arc.
Posted by: DaveBogart
Yeah, what was up with the Blue Men? There is nowhere on this planet where such a scenario would ever occur. I realize the stories are fiction but I wish they'd stick with stories that are based at least somewhat on reality.

The blue men usually cost $75 a pop. You got to wonder what the hell they were doing for free.

Speaking of Nessa... didn't you think it was quite a change for her with the money storyline?
First, her JOB is to make sure people are honest and not stealing, and she busts them if they do. Then she finds something that isn't hers, and thinks it's OK to steal? (I could almost see her looking at the TV and going "Is this stealing?")
Of the three, you think she'd be the "cop" of the group and say that it's not theirs, they should turn it in, etc....
Posted by: Titleist
I don't get the blue men thing either:confused:
Posted by: uncdrew
So the money was real?
Why would the blue men have 10s and 20s in a duffel-bag? Why would they shread it up? None of that story-line made any sense to me.
Posted by: Frylock
Yeah, the Blue Man thing seemed thrown in just to feature them.
And isn't Ed now higher than Chief of Security? I thought when the other guy bought the hotel that he had a new title...
Posted by: cello
I was also confused about the blue man group thing. I admit that, as usual, I wasn't paying 100% attention while watching (a habit I've gotten into for this fluffy but wonderful show). Did they ever explain why the bag was under a dumpster? Why would the blue man group shred it instead of trying to find it's rightful owner, or just letting the folks who found it have a good time? And if they thought it was dirty, shouldn't they have turned it into security or the cops, and not destroyed what could have been evidence in some crime? Very perplexing.
I wonder how hard it would have been to piece all those shreds back together. :) My grandpa used to have this big clear box that was full of shredded money. A very peculiar item. I used to think that it must have contained a fortune when I was a kid, but it was probably just shredded $1 bills.
Posted by: pmyers
while the money was being scanned for fingerprints they found some "distinguishing blue substance" on it then the next scene they show giving the money "back" to the BMG and then them shredding it all.
Posted by: cello
Here's a random question - is the makeup the the blue men wear shiny and hard, like shellac (I have no idea how to spell that - is that right?), or is it shiny and sticky, like honey? I've wondered about that for a long time.
Posted by: pmyers
I believe it must be somewhat sticky because they showed the money clinging on to it.
Posted by: devdogaz
Agreed about the BMG. That entire story line with the lost money, the three "friends" walking down the street, the shredding of the money, etc. was very out of place.
1. Why was the money sitting in a duffel bag under a dumpster?
2. I agree with scottjf8 who said it was out of character for Nessa to want to keep the money.
3. Just because there is apparently blue paint on the money doesn't automatically mean it belongs to the BMG.
4. If you're going to shoot confetti and you want it to look like real money, you don't use real money to make your confetti.
5. If the money wasn't actually real, shouldn't they have told Mike, Nessa, and Delinda so they wouldn't feel so bad?
6. If Ed was pissed about them shooting the confetti around the casino after the boxing match and wanted them out, why were they there to begin with? Wouldn't he, as the Chief of Operations for the whole resort, have had to clear them doing that in the first place?
7. Finally, why would the BMG dilute their image/reputation/value by appearing on this show as common casino entertainers and not the highly paid attraction that they are?

The paint is real sticky. I met them :)

Well it was "Fight Night". Actually I wont start to try and justify any of the BMG storyline as it was just silly.
Now lets talk about how hot Niki Coxx was!!!!

How about this theory?
BMG represents NBC
The money represents the show "boomtown"
The trio represents the producers, who brought a bag full of boomtown to NBC only to see it shredded before their very eyes....

Thank you, it was killing me that I could not place her. IIRC, wasn't that one of the lost shows?
In any case, I miss Action. Nother example of idiotic Fox execs.
Posted by: Steveknj
My theory is the money wasn't real. It was thrown by the dumpster because it was....ummmm...trash.
Then when they returned it to the BMG, they shredded it because it was phony money

Your paying way too much attention to plot lines. :p Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. It's just candy for the brain, so don't take in too much.
Posted by: DancnDude
If the money was phony, why didn't they discover that when the sent it off for fingerprints? Surely they would have also checked that it was real.
I really like Blue Man Group but this plotline was terrible.

I really like Las Vegas. But I am going to see if anyone else has noticed that the majority of every episode is really well done. But in almost every single episode there is some off-shoot section that is supposed to be funny but which is almost ALWAYS major cheese. I wish this show would just cut out that part of the formula. It doesn't work and cheapens a really good show. Sorry for the rant.

I really didn't think about any of this stuff as I watched the show since it is just brain/eye candy. But as people in this thread began to mention how strange that plot line was, I thought back and realized all the stuff about it that didn't make sense.
Believe me, I really don't care. I still love the show and don't really watch for any other reason than to be entertained.
How about this for a new direction to take this thread. Did anyone notice how Ed seemed to be treating Danny as a much lower level employee in this episode than in the past? Seems like before Danny kind of did what he wanted, when he wanted. And if Ed needed something done, Danny did it but in his own way. In this ep, Danny had to ask Ed if he could run see his dad for a couple of hours and Ed gave him a real hard time about it. There were a couple of other examples of this that I don't remember now. But of course at the end Ed gave Danny the fight tickets so maybe that makes up for it. I don't know.

I think this show is somehow tied into the Las Vegas tourist bureau, making the show some big advertisement for Vegas. Think about it, there are cameos from Wayne Newton and the Blue Man Group. The slogan, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas." keeps popping up. Also, it shows hotels handing comps left and right.

I'm not sure what Ed's opinion of Danny is right now. Remember, a few weeks ago when Delinda mentioned Danny he told her "I hate that guy!" and later tricked Danny into taking a bullet for him. So, I dunno...

My only annoyance was that they didn't have the Blue Men musically perform. I was disappointed. Sure they did their "oddity" and catching marshmallows from across the rooom. But no percussion!!!! *wahhhh!*
If you were playing attention, they gave away who the money belonged to quite early. When the trio were playing with the money on the bed, the Background Music was from BMG's CD "Audio." As soon as I heard it, there was no more suspense and I knew how BMG was going to tie in to the show.
And one of the disadvantages to having a Hi-Def TV. That money was visibly obviously fake. The corner numbers on the backs of those bills were bad and the colors were all wrong.

My favorite line of this episode...
2 girls on stage: "so what is your favorite number?"
Danny: "21"

Of course the money they used in the show was fake. It's not like they just have bags full of cash sitting around in the prop department and the show is not stupid enough to shred real money.

Way too much analysis for this show.
Repeat after me: Nikki Cox as a ring girl. Nikki Cox as a ring girl.
There, feel better?
