Just a heads up for Blake's 7 fans. Finally Blake is coming to DVD. The release date is now 1st March.

Blake's 7, in my eyes one of the best TV science Faction shows ever.

For those that never heard of Blake's 7 Yes the FX was cheap looking an campy' ' That's the BBC for ya :) ' But the story telling and how you cared about the crew.....Well for me it was better then Farscape even

The press release sounds like it is a European release.

Will these DVDs be available in region 1 (North America)?

I remember B7 from when it was on PBS in the early 80's. Cheesy special effects by today's standards, but good writing and acting.

It might be worth waiting for the American edition. The Brits are going with four season sets of five discs each; the American edition will have the entire series in 10 discs (apparently, also sold separately).

Aside from the abominable practice of VHS-porting (i.e., having only as much material on a disc as will fit on a VHS tape because they're TOO FRICKIN' LAZY to do a native DVD edition; A&E is the worst offender), you have to believe one 10-disc mega-set will cost a lot less than four 5-disc mini-sets.

I want this. I have most of the series on VHS, but they are real old and a couple have broken. I hope that they have a release date for Region 1 soon, or I might just have to get Region 2.

I saw this show on PBS years ago and the last episode was just amazing, what a surprise ending.

AI also remember seeing show called “Tripods” but they stopped airing before it concluded.

That may be because it never really concluded. There was supposed to be a third season and so the second season ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. Then, the third season fell through and was never made.

I have had the Blakes 7 on pre-order from amazon.co.uk for months. I've seen the release date bumped twice already. I'm not confident that it won't be pushed back further.

For some reason the second season of the original The Tomorrow People isn't offered as a box set.

ahhhh, Mid 80's Saturday nights, Tripods, Dr Who then Blake's 7 on PBS.
I was still into the the night life back then. :) But those 3 shows was the main reason I bought my first VCR with 5 timers :p

My first VCR had only 4 timers. But man, the tapes it recorded are still clear today, unlike those made with modern recorders.

Mine just shipped today, 3 days before the release date!

I had put in the order on 29 July 2003 at 17:34 BST.

Cost at the time was £31.90.

According to the site, it should arrive between Sep 29, 2003 and Oct 2, 2003.

Apparently they're shipping it at speed standard by 13.

(Gee, I hope they didn't screw up and sent me the VHS version.)
