Anyone hear anything about the Buffy spinoff "Ripper?"

I read about this soon after Buffy ended but haven't heard anything since. Also are there any talks of other spinoffs, maybe one about Willow?

It was on at one point, then went onto the back burner, and as far as I know, that's where it remains.

Yup. On indefinite hold at this point. If it does get the green light, there's actually no guarantee that it will air here in the states.
As for a Willow series - no chance. Allison Hannigan currently has a talent holding contract with NBC and is waiting for a match with a lead sitcom role.

I would think Hannigan would be prime to get into something big, either a big movie, or a new series of some kind. Wouldn't want her career to lose that momentum by disappearing for a couple years.

The rumour I had heard was that the spinoff was going to center on Giles and Willow in England. As for Hannigan, I would just love to see her in another series.

As LoadStar mentioned, Hannigan is already promised elsewhere. Click Here for Details
While that doesn't preclude her from making appearances, any short-term eventual "Ripper" series would be strictly built around ASH, not ASH+AH.[

This was suppose to happen when Giles left in , what was it, season five or six. BBC had agreed to do it, but then dragged its heels and Giles came back. I never heard about it since then, nor did I ever hear anything about willow being in it. The only spinoff that was going to happen at the end was FAITH, but Eliza deciced to di Tru Calling instead.

I don't believe Ripper was planned to take place until Fall 2004, even when ASH originally left BTVS. It sure doesn't look like it will happen in that timeframe, at this point, but I'm pretty sure that there were never any plans for it to have taken place any earlier.

Is ASH in the running to be Doctor Who?
Posted by: LoadStar
Only by popular demand and the fact that he's mostly available for the role.
The BBC has yet to comment on will actually be the Doctor. A few likely candidate names have leaked out, and ASH's name isn't among them; shortly thereafter, though, a poll placed ASH well ahead of anyone else in terms of fan favorite.
