Getting 'edit_bootparms' to run with no floppy?

I know this has probably been posted a thousand times, but I've spent a coupla hours searching in these forums and can't find the answer to this ..
How do I get "mad/edit_bootparms hdx -i" to work from either the MFSTools 1 or 2 CD? Everything in Hinsdale and the other guides states using a boot floppy, and I have been unable to get it to work from either CD. I have this problem every time I upgrade, and for some reason every time I can't find the answer (you'd think I'd write it down! ).
Thanks!

Two obvious things: you need to boot byteswapping and Trevor moved most of his tools into /mad - try just edit_bootparms...

Thanks Robert!
I don't know why I have trouble with this one item nearly every time I do an upgrade. I ended up manually editing the rc.sysinit file with JOE prior to your reply and added the "runideturbo=false" line. At least in the future I know I can just run "edit_bootparms" from the CD.

I just thought of one other thing. This is the first time I've run a two-drive upgrade. Do I need to add that line to the new B: drive also?

No, all the system stuff is on the A drive. Nothing but recordings on the B drive.

Thanks again.
I was HOPING that was the answer because this was my brother-in-law's DTiVo and I gave it back to him about an hour ago. I didn't want to have to go get it, bring it back home, open it ...
