I am seriously considering networking my Sony SAT-T60. One thing that I can't seem to find an answer to anywhere is wheter or not a networked series1 (say using the new cache card) will work with the Home Media Option (a new box will be in my future!)

While playing mp3s and looking at photos would be cool, what I really, really, want to be able to do is watch shows recorded on another box.
Is this possible with a series1 at all?

Hi. I was wondering the same thing a few months ago & the answer was here on the board. To save you the trouble:

Short answer: not possible

Longer answer: The series 2's have copy protection algorithms and h/w which encrypt the programs. The service only works with the encrypted media.

However, if you want to be able to share pics, music, etc with a networked Tivo 1, there are ways to do that. But they're convoluted....
