Becker will end with the January the 28th. episode. CBS is saying that the show could return. But the cast and crew knew last fall that the show would be over by mid-season.

IMHO it is well past due.

The episode of the 28th is called "DNR". How apropos.

Never cared for the show. Some TV characters can be both nasty and endearing (e.g. Archie Bunker, Louie DePalma) - Becker is just nasty.

I'll hate to see the show go. It's an overall funny show that has interesting twists every week, instead of just bland "Friends" style garbage.
Oh well, it's still on reruns in the evening, so I get to catch the shows I missed early on.

Of course the show with the lady on the train kind of blows that nasty rep. Don't want to give out any spoilers but a nice contrast.
I will miss the show - I liked it and also my wife didn't, a sure way to get her to leave the room.

I used to like Becker a lot. The characters were good, and I like Ted Danson's portrayal. But ever since they got rid of Terri Farrell and then eventually most of the cast, the show has been going around in circles.

I also thought it went downhill when they brought Nancy Travis onboard. Once they toned her character down I started enjoying the show again. I hardly noticed Bob was gone because I like the new guy.
Too bad. :(

When Becker first appeared, it took me completely by surprise. It seemed that there was no promotion for this new Ted Danson vehicle. I guess CBS learned a lesson from Ink.
I've enjoyed the show throughout its run and it may be the only sitcom that my wife actively wants to watch. But the cast changes the last couple of years haven't served the show well. I think the substitution of this new guy for Bob did more damage than Chris for Reggie, but both were steps down. I'll miss Becker a little, but not much.

My favorite Becker episode was the Christmas ep where he had a bad back. I think that show hit all the right notes and did a really good job of showing that Becker really is a jerk, but the world is out to get him.

I thought it was a worthy finale. Even Hector was almost funny.
I especially liked the "Mr. Nielsen is in room 1" joke.
