backing up TiVo OS

I have my original 40GB stashed away, but just in case something happens to that one, I wanna be ready or if someone needs an image. So, I wanna backup the TiVo OS on that one. Reading Hinsdale, it seems to be pretty easy. The only question I have is this. When it talks about the C: drive, I'm assuming its talking about the regular drive I have already. I'm also assuming that it will save a file in the root C: directory. What I'm worried about is if anything will happen to my C: drive. There's a lot of important things on the drive that I would not want to lose.

So... would doing the backup mess up my C drive in anyway. Also, does it matter that my drive is in NTFS format?

THanks.

It's not too hazardous to the rest of your C: drive. I don't recall anyone ever having a problem like that.

However, NTFS is a problem - Linux has read-only support for NTFS. I advise people to put a small FAT partition on their upgrade drives to get around that problem, but you're already past that point, I think.
