Okay, so, every year, the network with the Superbowl premiers some new show directly after the game, in order to try to reel in some of the 70-some-million viewers. Every year, the guide data is completely unreliable, and we get a horde of people show up saying "Can you send me Alias?" "Can you send me Survivor?"

So, consider this a preemptive strike.

The game will go long. If all you do is set Survivor All-Stars to record, you will miss the end, and probably a lot more. Go into the recording properties, and bump that sucker up at least 1 1/2 hours. That's the only way to make sure your recording is complete.

I was going to ask this zak. Thanks for the heads-up. Instead of padding, I just told TiVo to record the next two hours worth of shows on that channel. Same result, I guess.

To make the Super Bowl more palatable for later viewing, I split it up into one-hour manual recordings that run from 5 p.m. to 12 midnight.

Hehe, I just pad the survivor recording 3 hours past the scheduled end time.

4 Hours of best quality all in one chunk. Don't record much on best, so my TiVo is in for a treat. :D

I padded by one hour, and just made it. They added a LOT of commercials to Survivor to make it 1 hr 8 minutes.

Yes there is an Encore of Survivor All-Stars on Tuesday night - I think 8/7 Central. Finally they get a clue to re-run the premier after the big game.

As a reminder, if you want to catch the shunned player's farewell speech, and scenes from our next episode, pad at least a minute after 9:00 - it tends to go over.
