If you bought it before 1/31, you get the TiVo $50 rebate, but on 2/1 Bestbuy dropped the price to match the rebate once it ran out, so you can go back and price match it wihtin 30 days, effectivley getting a Tivo for $199 with a $50 MIR, or $150.
Note: This is for a 24004A

Slightly OT:
I wonder if Best Buy is going to be changing any of their policies soon. I was just asked to complete a lengthy on-line survey from a company named Gongos, and when it was over I could tell that it was commissioned by Best Buy.
I was asked to describe my shopping "process" at Best Buy, Circuit City, Costco, Target, WalMart, and my "local electronics specialty store" using different buying scenarios with three of the retailers compared at a time. I was asked where I would start my shopping process, where I would finally purchase the product, and which store most valued me as a customer.
One of the questions was about return policies, and the scenarios varied from very restrictive to very generous: (1) 14 days computer, 30 days all other products, receipt required, no exceptions; (2) same as (1) but with more leeway if receipt was lost, (3) 30 days all products, receipt required; (4) same as 3 but with leeway if receipt lost; and (5) 6 months return on all products.
The scenarios also included rebates (none, versus mail-in, versus instant in-store reduction), traveling to the store (very convenient, slightly convenient, not very convenient) and price (pay less than you'd expect, what you'd expect, or more than you'd expect).
It was an interesting survey, but with all of the scenarios and rotating store comparisons, it took almost 45 minutes to do.
I wonder how long it will take to analyze the results before Best Buy decides if it's in their interest to changes their policies. I'm betting most other people who took the survey are like me and chose that 6 months return policy is better than the current one, and instant in-store rebates are better than mail-in rebates. Something to keep an eye out for ...
